Journal jdavidb's Journal: Finally against the Patriot Act 5
Liberals and libertarians have been decrying the Patriot Act for years now, and even though that time period has seen me go from "conservative" to "stark raving mad anarcho-capitalist" I still haven't really felt like there's been anything to get upset about. So far, I hadn't heard real evidence that civil liberties of non-terrorists had been curtailed in meaningful ways.
All that changed today when I ran across this. I have now taken a firm stand and call for the immediate repeal of the Patriot Act.

So, I have been noticing that they need my DL all the time for about 6 months now. It is annoying, but they seem to either not double check the amount per month, or that is specific to the author's area.

If by "they" you mean the pharamcist, no they probably don't double-check.
But if the "they" in question is an employee for the DEA, yeah they probably check and have you listed somewhere.

Yeah, I haven't heard of that restriction. Could be the store selling to him doesn't know what its doing. :) OTOH, I basically buy two packs in November/December and that's it, so maybe I just haven't hit the limit. Maybe they were just worried about the guy since he said he wanted to buy ten!
