This whole "online constituent relationship management" business. There is a whole industry with each portion duplicated along partisan lines. Every campaign for fundraising goes through this kind of software, and they appear to have extremely rigorous methods for demographic research, pitch writing, interaction design, etc. It just never occured to me that there'd be a big, organized software industry entirely dedicated to partisan politics.
