Yes, I'm excited about the PS3 and I'm going to defend Sony.

I don't care that the price is $599. People are freaking out saying it's too much. Well, then you aren't the people they are targeting. (Don't get me wrong, 6 bills ain't cheap) But they seem to be going after the hardcore gamers and techno-junkies. These are people that don't hesitate to drop $400 on the latest graphics card. People that buy new PCs every year to play the most current games at the highest resolutions. Also, the PS3 will have some nice HD support. Last I looked at decent HD-TV will run you a few grand. If you're dropping $5000+ on a nice HD-TV, what's another $600 for a console system? It's also got a Blu-Ray player built-in. Last I looked those are going for around $1000 each. So you have a $1000 Blu-Ray player AND a gaming console for $600. And you don't need any add-ons - everything just comes with the system (assuming we're talking about the $599 version). You could easily rack-up $600 for an Xbox360 if you buy a wireless adapter and the up-coming HD-DVD add-on. I'm not saying the PS3 is better or worse than the Xbox360 and Wii. I'm just saying *I* think the $600 is justified.

But, if you don't like the price, don't buy one.
