Journal heinousjay's Journal: I've realized a terrible thing 3

I only come here to see the dipshitathon in liberal land. I always thought it was just stereotyping - surely not all liberals are utterly clueless dumbfucks who are out to bind their groupthink tighter and tighter through a solid regime of pseudo-intellectual false self superiority, said I. I was wrong. They are, and they've got the mod points to prove it.

Oh well, the bitchfighting is fun to watch.

I've realized a terrible thing

  • Not all liberals are that way. But this is primarily a Linux advocacy site, and Linux is GPL/"copyleft" and anti-establishment and challenging a big corporation etc., so I think we tend to get a higher concentration of the more extreme liberals than normally occurs in the wild.
    • You're right, of course. I painted with too wide a brush. My problem isn't with liberals. What I don't like is the 'Lord of the Flies' mentality that pervades Slashdot. It's inevitable, of course. Any large internet community turns into this.
      • I certainly have a problem with liberals, but you're right, any large Internet community devolves into this. However, my personal (biased) view is that, in this regard, there are 3 types of people:
        1) Those who feel uneasy about a "hive mind" existing, but can't see one coming and hence do not/cannot do anything to stave it off.
        2) Those who like the feel of the power of coercion towards imposing some end.
        3) Those who sense and feel uneasy about a "hive mind" developing, know that it's unwise and unfair, and
