Journal webhat's Journal: Guess I'm a follower 5

You've probably seen this going around...

You're stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?

A book on asbestos.

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?

Friday from Heinlein's book of the same name. Or the girl from Glory Road

The last book you bought is:

The story of Pi, for my Aunt's Birthday.

The last book you read:

Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep, again.

What are you currently reading?

How to Buy & Sell just about everything.

Five books you would take to a deserted island.

The Bible, a book on building straw houses, the complete works of Shakespeare, the unabridged Encyclopaedia Britannica and Friday.

First peacefinder [slashdot.org], then metlin [slashdot.org], now you.

I'm suing for infringement of my lunacy. I expect to win $163 kajillion bajillion.

    Cheers,

    Ethelred

    • Actually on the BBC radio program desert island disks you get the bible and the CWoWS for free and ony get one extra book.

You do however get a wind-up gramaphone player and 5 records to choose from. So me ripping you off.... I don't think so...

      • Prior art. ;)
        • ROTFL! Yeah right.

          Good books, those, btw.

So here's a quick question - what if we had time travel? How would the whole prior art thing work?
          • Actually, afaik, time is liniar for us Earthlings, so prior art means something only to us time liniar beings.

We have time travel, we just travel forwards through time.

If we had backward time travel and it was possible to prove that somebody had time traveled back and created prior art we'd probably have a lot moet SCO type lawsuits. ;)

We are Microsoft. Unix is irrelevant. Openness is futile. Prepare to be assimilated.

Working...
