Journal pudge's Journal: The Gun Banners Get Busy 4

Read it and weep, if you love liberty and the Constitution. Or you just like guns.

Thankfully, this being an election year in which Democrats are already running for cover, this ban most likely has no chance whatsoever of passing. I imagine most Democrats in the legislature are angry at liberal Seattle Senators Adam Kline, Darlene Fairley, Jeanne Kohl-Welles, and Joe McDermott, because just by introducing this bill, it's going to hurt Democrats who aren't in safe districts like Seattle.

  • If you can get one of the bill's sponsors to talk publicly about the text of their proposal, and then give them one of these:

Yeah, I love that clip. "Do you actually know what a barrel shroud is? ... Oh, because it's in your legislation ..."

  • If it passes, I guess Washington joins California and NY as states I will never voluntarily live in.

The most idiotic thing about bills like this is that almost no provision of the bill limits the ability of a determined killer to kill with a non-"assault" weapon. For that matter, a determined killer also doesn't need guns to kill a lot of people.

We need to ban automobiles, trains, airplanes, air compressors, any kind of o pipe, gasoline, acetylene welders, you get the idea.

  • Even after Heller, they've still learned nothing. And 2010 is shaping up to be the Year of Self Destruction for the Democratic Party. I guess this is completely in character then.

The first myth of management is that it exists. The second myth of management is that success equals skill. -- Robert Heller
