And it is not even April Fool's Day yet. This is real. Dark colors make your car hotter meaning you use more AC meaning you use more fossil fuels meaning you are killing the planet.

Thanks, but I can't really take full credit for it. The first 3 come from Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism book, which I highly recommend if you haven't read it... as far as Obama... ideological equivalent to Benito Mussolini.

Your car's AC uses negligible amounts of fuel. My onboard MPG computer shows no difference in mileage at all with or without the AC, wind direction, terrain, etc all have far more of an effect. The California legslature would do far better making California's highway grades shallower; have you seen some of the on-ramps?
Ot they could suggest that parking lots have trees. Here in Illinois during the summer I always park under a tree if possible; leave it in the sun and it's a furnace inside.

Maybe the state should just mandate that all future cars sold in the state be mirror-plated on all surfaces that would normally be painted. That *would* be the way to maximal reflection of the sun's heating rays, of course. It would be a hoot at night as well, reflecting some oncoming pecker's high beams back into his own eyes!
But I see a potential problem in all of this (and I didn't read the comments so someone else might've already mentioned it): Wouldn't all this reflection of the sun's rays just aggrav
