Journal pudge's Journal: Federal Funding 10

Today the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that the federal government has every right to force a school that accepts federal funds to allow military recruiters on campus. It was, of course, the only reasonable decision, as the 8-0 result shows.

And this is precisely why the federal government has no place in domestic affairs, except where necessary. Because when they get involved, they take control. That is how such things work.

Just though I'd point it out.

  • If Yale is going to let in Taliban, then for the students' own safety it's probably a good idea to have people from the military there recruiting.

  • yeah I guess I do have mixed feeligns about that verdict. I'm glad that some whiny liberal colleges will have to "put up" with a Sgt. sitting at a booth or standing in an open square or cafeteria. Oh no. The horrors.

  • Yep. Recruiters will not be allowed at the homeschool where I intend to educate my children, because it is my house, and I still own it (theoretically).

Thus I'll be free to educate my children in my pacifist values, and nobody will have the right to demand "equal time" for alternative viewpoints. People who feel a need to provide such alternative viewpoints to my children can do so once they are emancipated; if their viewpoints are not powerful enough to convince rational adults educated in logic and rh
