Journal mercedo's Journal: No Pleasure, No Gain 15

I was trying to write the day before yesterday, but I quit. It wasn't worth to be read. I was trying to write something too yesterday. It was not interesting to be read.

I've been leading monotonous life. I go to work, I work, I go home, I opened my PC, read an article on sites. I read. I read, and read I conceive something, but I am unable to crystalise the idea. I let them be, throw away, I go to bed.

No pain, no gain. But at the same time no pleasure no gain. Writers are to write, canaries are to sing.

    • I was having cheap white wine, that only causes me drowsiness. I was having whisky, bourbon, Scotch whatever that was too strong for me to keep me awake.

Tonight I found a perfect resolution -It's Gin. Now I will get back soon.

      • I always found that THC cleared it right up .. but then a lot of people have moral and legal objections to its use ..
        • Illegality of drugs has more to do with economic, social problem than health problem for indviduals.
          • ;) it would take money away from the alcohol and tobacco business .
Of course if the government had half a brain they would legalise them (though I would rather some were never legal)

2: Crime will be reduced , prison systems would be less stressed with non violent criminals
3: People would have more liberty and free will

I can sympathize with you. Creativity can be quite difficult when every day is Sisyphean and leaves you with no energy or motivation to do much of anything.
  • You might want to try doing NaNoWriMo [nanowrimo.org] this year. It is short hand for National Novel Writing Month. Basically you try and write 50,000 words in the month of November. I did it last year (and failed:-( having only written 27,000 words). However, if you start early and pace yourself, you should be able to do it. The nice thing is that there are discussion boards and literally thousands of people doing with you. One of the best quotes I ever saw on their site was, "You can crap, you can't edit a blank pa
    • And for the record, that quote should read, "You can edit crap, you can't edit edit a blank page."

Yes, Fidel, you can still give me grief;-)

    • First, here's joke. I though it a palindrome, but on second site, I thought it something related to nano-tech.

Yeah, it's interesting. I can't imagine whether I can write 50,000 words in a month -that is 1666 words a day. Probably many people notice I am not a native speaker, then I prepare for it -I would say ' I wrote it deliberately aiming as if I were a non-native, it requires technique though. '

It seems very interesting. See you in a competition.

      • If you go ahead and do, by all means keep us updated. I know for me that one of the thigns it helped me with was the sheer mechanics of writing. Just getting the fingers and brain linked up to get the thought to the page is useful as well.
        • Sorry, but honestly speaking it's a litte bit beyond my capacity. I think I'm still learning how to write correctly, not well. But thanks for the invitation, someday, sure.

"It wasn't worth to be read."

It's not like posting to your Slashdot journal is a paying gig, let the audience decide whether or not it's worth reading.

Besides, if you're self-conscious about your English, more practice wouldn't hurt.
    • Yeah, you are completely correct. Writers should post their articles without preference and prejudice. I hadn't expected to get this lots of comments on this JE, on the other hands, I had sometime I hadn't gotten any comments though I was expecting. 'For me nothing' doesn't necessarily mean nothing for other readers. You are correct.

Communication is a matter of love, if I really love someone, I try to communicate with them eagerly -if I love someone, I love their dogs too.
