Journal mcgrew's Journal: Homer Simpson's Uncle Freddy Arrested in Springfield 5

Life in Springfield is not like elsewhere, but then, you know that. You read these journals and live in a normal, non-cartoon town.

Ok, I'll correct that - you're a nerd who lives in cyberspace, but the town your basement is located in is a normal, non-cartoon town.

The Springfield State Journal-Wrapafish is reporting that Homer Simpson's Uncle Freddy has been arrested for domestic violence.

Man allegedly hits woman with beer bottle
A 55-year-old man was arrested after allegedly hitting a woman with a 40-ounce beer bottle inside a room at the Bel-Aire Motel, 2636 S. Sixth St., early Thursday.

The incident occurred between 12:30 and 1 a.m. during a domestic disturbance between Freddie G. Simpson, who lives at the motel, and the 54-year-old victim, a police report said.

The victim suffered a minor cut and refused medical treatment.

Springfield's Alderman Gail Simpson had no comment.

It's that 40 oz. bottle that really adds that touch of class to an otherwise ordinary story, y'know?

That's a "classy" motel, too. It's not a real motel, but a "permanent residence" motel like the "Bedbig Inn" mentioned in Alien vs Lucifer [slashdot.org]. The "Bedbug Inn" is actually Lincoln Lodge and although it has permanent residents, it actually rents rooms by the night like normal motels.

It's a real dump, though. Not as bad as the Bel Aire (which is walking distance from my basement).

  • The victim suffered a minor cut and refused medical treatment.

I suspect that translates to "The victim refused to rack up extortionate ambulance and ER charges."

She was probably a hooker. I've dropped hookers off there before - crazy people pay hookers well (Eliot Spizer?) so the hookers don't mind going there.

Crazy Debbie [slashdot.org] isn't a hooker but she lives there; or at least she did, I think she's in prison now. I Haven't seen Debbie for a long time.

      • Paying hookers well is a dumb idea, as Spitzer should have known.

Pay a hooker an amount you can easily get from the ATM, and nobody can "follow the money". Pay a hooker $5k, and you wind up on national TV apologizing to your wife who looks like she is about ready to go Lorena Bobbit on you.
