Just so everyone knows, my previous journal entry was not a "joke," nor was it a "troll." It was completely sincere.

I forgot to add something else: I find abortion abhorrent. I don't know if I could call it "murder" but it's something very close. Unless it's early in the first trimester.

However, the difference between me and The Idiots out there is that I don't think I need to force my views on other people. I'm "pro-choice."

MRS: although i think you need to clarify the sex for procreation part
MRS: we're not against premarital sex, we're against recreational sex

MRS: how are people going to know if they're sexually compatible without premarital sex?
MRS: look at [our born-again christian friends]

MRS: you think sex is for procreation only?
CVR: i'm against telling you kids that it's ok
CVR: i.e. giving them a condom and saying "Go for it!"
MRS: oh, yeah, that's true
CVR: yes, you should teach your children that sex is for making babies, not "fun"
MRS: i definitely don't want the kids fucking in the spare room. already told ItsOk that's a no go
CVR: yeah
CVR: gross
CVR: ok back to work
MRS: bye

    ...about post-marital sex for couples who cannot, for reasons of infertility, have children?

    Are you only against recreational sex for premarital couples, or for any couple regardless of circumstances? Is sex for pleasure wrong, and must the intent of having children be observed before each union?

    I think I might agree with some of what you’re saying, although perhaps not on every detail. I, too am an anti-abortion pro-choicer. I feel the same way about abortion that I do about heroin: it should be legal, and if society is running well, demand should bottom out. If demand for either spikes, that’s a symptom of a larger problem.

          Then get married.

          The reasons to NOT get married are pretty slim, especially an easy-divorce nation like ours. And the reasons to get married are, well, pretty well documented by the gay marriage movement.

              If you haven't guessed, I am in favor of gay marriage. While no gays may be better than married gays, married gays are better than unmarried. (And that "may" is God's call, not yours or mines or that pedophile priest's.)

  • While I respect your right to your opinion, you're wrong. Telling kids "sex is alright, but you should wear protection" has lowered teenage pregnancy rates[1]. Abstinence education - doesn't work, it only makes babies.

  • I do disagree with how strongly you view sex as procreation only. I think you're trying to state how seriously you take it, but since we plan on having no kids, we tend to view sex as a lot of fun and a way to express our love for each other. Procreation is currently overrated IMO. Heh.
