Journal Interrobang's Journal: My Protracted Absence 12
I imagine that some of you are wondering why I haven't been around for a while. Well, the short answer is, for ages I was too busy at work to even dare to try and post anything, and right now, it's because I'm too busy trying to find another job.
Unfortunately, I got laid off on 12 October, actually a month ago tomorrow -- wow, it doesn't seem that long. Then, less than a week later, the Fiance Figure came to visit for about 2 weeks, so it's been hectic to say the least. Today, I had the first job interview (a cold call to me) I've had so far, and it was a total waste of time -- semi-scam operation recruiting for semi-sales. (Aside: I don't know why so many HR people see writing and research skills etc. and automatically assume that someone who can communicate well on paper and verbally occasionally would be happy pitching a spiel yea many times a day yea many days a week like some kind of performing automaton. If someone can figure this out, let me know.)
In any case, I intend to post on the Job Center (ergh, American spellings) as soon as I can, if it's still going, but meantime, anyone know anyone hiring tech writers/editors/marketroids/back office folks in either the Toronto/London/K-W area or NYC-ish?
Take care, and I've got another poem for you soon.

Thanks for the best wishes with the job search. So far it's not going all that well. However, tomorrow I'm going to e-mail a couple of local-ish newspapers and ask if they need copy editors, plus I'll probably apply to whatever's out there. Copy editing has its down sides -- one of which is weird hours, but did I mention I'm a nocturnal insomniac?; and the other is a breakneck pace, but did
