This was funny when Sean Kelly was still alive, before Michael O'Donahue left for Saturday Night Live, when P.J. O'Rourke still smoked dope, met Yoko and Jagger at a party and slept with hippie chicks.

That was funny. It was sophmoric and satirical about venal little things, while assuming a certain level of real erudition on the part of the reader.

That couldn't last. Just make a tit joke.

Dig out the old stuff - '71-'75. You might have to know who Indira Ghandi and Pierre Trudeau were, and have read Walde
