Journal GMontag's Journal: New Suits are like New Computers or Cars 5
So, I shall begin with the journey of the suits.
Was fitted for new suits in December and they said I could post-date the check. Not a problem, other than the check was presented the day before the direct-deposit covering it was deposited (day before date on check too). $33 charge and had to talk the bank out of sending the check back.
This week the suits were shipped from Hong King to California to me. Slight problem, they shipped them to my old address in Reston, VA. I noticed on delivery day and had UPS send them to current address. Yes, I gave the shipper my proper address long ago and it is still in my online info. Must be a "superior society" thing or something and I am just too stupid to understand.
Sent suits to cleaners for pressing, got them back yesterday. Went to get cedar coat hangers today. No luck but The Target had decent wooden (not cedar) hangers (20 for $9.99).
New shirts were not hard at Burlington Coat Factory. Good selection of 17.5x37, so got 6 for $85.
Trying to find suspenders was a chore. Burlington Coat Factory, Macy's and several other stores carry only the cheap clip-on suspenders. Finally found 2 sets at The Knot Shop for a total of $50+tax. Using an old set for one suit as nobody had medium gray. Joseph A. Bank was $49.50 per set, no discounts.
Put everything together, have it all lined up to wear next week.
Just like ricing a car or computer, it never ends.

Try the Marine Shop [safeshopper.com] in Quantico. I seem to remember them having cedar coat hangers. I know they have cedar shoe trees.
