Journal DisownedSky's Journal: I'm making this up and it's probably a lie. 2

There are a few things you need to know about the alien presence. The popular mythology is wrong in ways gross and subtle, and this is by design. However, they must live for us in our mythosphere, since our science can not yet contain them any more than you can study the oceans in a bucket of water.

First, it is actually many presences, some overt and others hidden. It is not centrally controlled or managed and is often harshly inconsistent. There is not necessarily an agenda, or a plan, and their purposes are every bit as alien as they are. Different agencies have interacted with our species over time, and with our planet before our species existed, and some of them are no longer present.

They are not:

  • Going to save us from ourselves - at least not in any overt way. They may not even give us any useful advice.
  • Going to give us any advanced technology. The one thing they agree on is that this would be wrong. This is one of the most intense areas of disinformation.
  • Really working with any terrestrial government. There may have been a few contacts, some information exchange, but there is no ongoing relationship, and there is no one who knows everything about this.
  • Abducting us in large numbers. There have been some involuntary contacts, but not many and not often.
  • Envious of our genetic material. Interested, yes, but not envious. At present, they have all the samples they need.

Most UFO sightings - confining ourselves to the Small Fraction - are not what they may appear to be. What is seen is only a phantom or a stray reflection of what is actually present. These sightings are not always for our benefit.

Last, there is litle hope of knowing much more than what is revealed here, for a a very long time. We are the youngest technological civilization for a long way in all dimensions, and if we are to prosper in the long term, we have to discover nearly everything for ourselves. The presence obeys a very strong uncertainty principle - the more you study it, the more elusive and illogical it becomes.
