True enough..They are not robots. But they could very well be the bodies for robots. This show changed my interests from electronics to robotics and I have been back in school ever since. This show/format could produce a viable sport. As it is the original(American) spawned groups across the nation to form and compete with smaller more affordable (non autonomous(ro)BOTS. There were even a few tries at semi or fully autonomous bot battles. Hopefully it will stick around for a while this time. The USA needs something like this to spur robotics development, because right now we are a long way behind Japan, China, and Korea.

From the Guardian: 'A group of US scientists have found a layer of microscopic diamonds at 26 different sites in Europe, Canada and America. These are the remains of a giant carbon-rich comet that crashed in pieces on our planet 12,900 years ago.' According to geophysicist Allen West, the comet was 'about 2km-3km in diameter and broke up just before impact, setting off a series of explosions, each the equivalent of an atomic bomb blast. The result would have been hell on Earth. Most of the northern hemisphere would have been left on fire.'"

Exclusive to Blu-ray are the first two "Pirates of the Caribbean" flicks, while exclusive to HD DVD are two different configurations of the "Matrix" Trilogy. So which format wins this battle? According to High-Def Digest, this one's a draw. After evaluating each of the releases in excruciating detail, ("The Ultimate Matrix Collection" & "The Complete Matrix Trilogy" on HD DVD, and "POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl" & "POTC: Dead Man's Chest" on Blu-ray) the site says both sets of releases boast benchmark video and audio, but a preponderance of standard-def supplements prevent all of the above from being the perfect high-def package."
High paying jobs in math and science?

An anonymous reader writes "Where are the high paying jobs for those good in math and science at? I've heard about math and science shortages for almost two decades now, and I was wondering what high salary/high demand jobs have resulted from these shortages. Most science majors I know actually make less than teachers (in Texas teachers make $38-40K to start for nine months work). In terms of money, what career would you pursue coming out of college right now with a math or science degree?"
