AVee writes "The rough google.com certificate issued by Diginotar was actually the result of a breach of their systems. According to a press release from Vasco, their parent company, the breach happened on July 19. Apparently they feel like publishing this a the time. The Diginotar website seems to have been breached since 2009 as well."

AVee writes "Amazon applied for a patent which describes paying using head movements. After One-Click payments we might son nod or smile to pay. The obvious question here obviously is whether the description of this payment method in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is prior art or 'future art'

Nokia sues Apple for patent infringment in iPhone->

AVee writes "Engadget (amonst many others) report that Nokia is sueing Apple because the iPhone infringes on 10 Nokia patents related to GSM, UTMS and WiFi. The press release doesn't contain much detail, it does state that Apple didn't agree "appropriate terms for Nokia's intellectual property", which sounds like there have been negotiations about those patents."

An (official) unlocked iPhone for 999 euro->

AVee writes "The actual price of the iPhone is out of the box, Reuters reportsM that T-Mobile germany will sell it, unlocked, no strings attached, for 999,- euros ($1,478). It will also unlock the iPhones of current customers free of charge. All of this as a result of case Vodafone brought against the locking done by T-Mobile. It seems customers are finally is allowed to use the iPhone with the carrier they want."
