How about, Apple is a dickhead company that steals (in the name of open source) other people work and never credits it, while maintaining their highly valuable social position? Fuck Apple and if you buy any of their products you are a bigger dumbass than they are.

I forgot to mention a 17" screen. Even the $1000+ laptops on those linux websites were for a 14 or 15 inch screen.

Today Woot.com has for $650 a much nicer computer than those listed at much lower prices. 1 HP Pavilion dv7-1261wm Dual Core 2.2GHz Turion, 4GB DDR2, 500GB HD, Gigabit LAN, BluRay, eSATA, HDMI That's pretty nice, and it can upgrade ram to 8 gb even. I'm all for supporting local or online linux only vendors, but when the prices are like double...sorry. Windows tax or whatever, sometimes it comes in handy to have a valid windows liscense.

I love my N810 too. Last I looked though the prices spiked after they stopped selling them new at Amazon. For my new phone I chose the best "dumb phone" with the most features I could find, because really as long as I can tether my n810 that's good enough! My old phone's bluetooth was not reliable at all, and that really sucked. It sucks that n900 is T-Mobile only, in any case. They have no plans to offer coverage where I live.

Still it was fixed by the time I heard about it, yesterday. I've become a recent Microsoft convert, but they tend to pretend this isn't happening, till they release a fix on their own good time. And Apple just breaks everything for everyone else all the time so let's not go there. I'll be the first ever person to ever say I bought Apple hardware just to find out that Apple broke it for me cause I wasn't just cool.

I agree. AT&T has enough issues and people have enough reasons to complain, people who want standard pricing to bend around them just cause they are the most loyal Apple guy don't help anyone. The two year plan helps subsidize the cost of the phone. I don't understand. All you hear is iphone people saying that any other comparable device sucks compared to their wonderful technological wonder of a phone, and now suddenly they just can't live without the next super duper upgrade, which may or may not still be inferior to what they had just been dissing a short while ago. Suck it up Apple guys, you always have and always will pay a premium to flaunt your superiority at the rest of the world :(

Hey I paid $100 for Windows Vista, and it's missing a lot of features on my Gentoo install on the computer over. If not amateurish to charge all this money for an inferior operating system, I don't know what to call it. Arrogant and demeaning? Hey I like video games, is why I paid for Windows, but Microsoft peddles amateur crap all the time, and like Apple it's fanboys will mock you and defend it till the end.

Steve Jobs is SOOO COOOL. Like you can tear apart a iphone just like him and install any operating system or software on it you want, cause you paid for it. You can do anything you want on an iphone, and it's better than anything else in the world, because apple is so awesome!

You'd have a point, if non-votes were counted. Unfortunately, if none of the candidates agree with you on a certain issue, sometimes it's better to vote for the lesser of two evils. I think often the act of participating in voting is stressed a lot. If you can find a candidate who agrees with you on a lot of things, sometimes that's your best bet. Then again, sometimes things said in the campaign are forgotten during their term. It may be for the better if non-votes got some weight, it's like saying all of these candidates disgust me why would I vote for one of these. Or it's just being complacent, in which case your non-vote could count as approval, like for the incumbent or his party. It's pretty easy getting to the voting booth where I live, but with those long lines in lots of parts of the country, those people's non-votes due to inconvenience would have counted too.

Considering you can get an OS for $0, suddenly paying more than $20 seems crazy for a computer os. Then again, if you just buy a computer for games to out-rival ps3 or 360, $100 for a video game OS seems more realistic. Not sure what Microsoft was thinking, not including NFS and ftp support in "Home Premium" but wanting another $100 for "Ultimate" which is targeted to "power users". Who are running other OS's for free and Microsoft wants another $100 just for the privilidge of using their network protocol? You really have to ask yourself why you pay so much for something. Irrationality is pretty common amongst every group of people though :)

Indeed. AT&T's support telephone network is a collossal cluster fudge. At one point in getting my dsl switched from telephone/dsl to just dsl I had 3 different ip addresses, the same number of accounts, and this was something that took about 7 hours talking to dozens of different representatives to figure out. The next 10 hours were spent explaining the situation first, then either getting made fun of or transferred. I listened to that infuriating answer message 100 times I bet. Eventutally they sent out a tech to my place, he saw with his eyes what I'd told dozens of people and called in and it was working right the same day. To make it even more infuriating the dozens and dozens of people I'd spoken with were all in call centers, had no way to identify themselves, and refused to admit they had a supervisor. If DSL wasn't more reliable than cable here...alas. Besides I'd wasted so much of my time (and had had to upgrade my new cell phone from a different company's minutes 3 times), it was just more convienient to stay with AT&T. Never received a sinsere apology, they never admitted that they had done anything wrong. The AT&T tech support guys are pretty great people though. They don't have a problem with you running linux as long as you can do all their steps...which is better as no rebooting just command line.
