ukraine gave up its nukes with american assurances that they would be safe.

if they are not safe and we're not getting involved, then give them some nukes back.

we don't really have to get involved in the conflict per se. we can just provide ukraine with a few dozen nukes.

It's interesting how for most of human history people were partnering up and and having babies around 14/15 yrs old and being grandparents at 30 yrs old and great grandparents at 45 yrs for the few that were lucky enough to live that long.

Now in our highly specialized society, people are commonly having babies in the mid-30s.

since some trees and such can live for hundreds of years, and turtles can live for more than 100 yrs, I wonder if we can learn from them how to extend life.

graphics hardware is so cheap these days. Even your $85 Amazon Fire TV can render some pretty awesome games...and it just keeps improving...so it seems like the real benefit isn't graphics per se but in AI and CPU processing, in maintaining massive worlds, and in enabling a uniform gaming experience across platforms/clients.

I would think one benefit would be that you can allow for a subscription service where people could try lots of different games or play portions of games without having to download hundreds of gigs of data for games they only play a few times or when they are only playing a specific mission and don't need all the maps or game modes available.

I'm not saying this is what everyone wants or that it works for all use cases, but I imagine this is one scenario.

I've used Airbnb and never had a shady experience. Hosts have been friendly and hassle free. Places have been clean. I'm sure there are shady hosts out there but is it really so widespread?

I think China has a military of this size partly to keep people employed. It's not like they really use it.

I think what you're saying might be true for the uneducated, lower end of the market.

I think most people would choose to be caned 40 times over going to jail for 33 months...assuming that the caning won't do any permanent damage, perhaps aside from scaring.
