Is a file the (a)original data or (b) the original data + annotations data in other databases. What does a user expect when he/she creates a "copy" of a file. I have never seen a discussion like: "I downloaded a picture from facebook and now all the likes and comments are missing!" Suppose it will pop-up in the near future..

why? Microsoft mostly worked on improving earlier microsoft hyper-v code, it was below standards and needed a lot of work to be of acceptable quality. you could also state you will be upgrading immideately so earlier bad microsoft code will be replaced by acceptable quality ASAP! whatever you prefer either bad or good code from microsoft on your machine.

The negative effects are also observed in adult behaviour. people with cars with all safety features (airbags, crumple zones, abs, esp, a computer that detects weird behaviour and adjusts seats/seatbelts just before impact) drive less carefull than others with old "unsafe" cars. When sane grownup behaviour becomes worse with the safe features, i would not be surprised children becoming challenged to try to find a little danger no matter what. http://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-intel-executive-was-wrong-about-windows-8 Long story short, this statement from intel is incorrect. But guess what: intel is a chip manufacturer that sells x86 cpu's and has sold its arm devision a few years back, how much more biased do you want a source of information. In reality it will most likely be an ugly vm running your old non recompilable software slowly.

Leopard Already Hacked To Run On PC Hardware 568

PoliTech passed us a PC World link, noting that the newest version of OS X, Leopard, has already been adapted to run on a PC. "The OSx86 Scene forum has released details of how Windows users can migrate to Apple's new OS, without investing in new hardware -- even though installing Leopard on an PC may be counter to Apple's terms and conditions. The forum is offering full instructions on how to install the system, including screenshots of the installation process. Not all the features of Leopard function with the patch -- Wi-Fi support, for example, is reportedly inoperable. Historically, Apple's likely next move will be to track down and act against those behind the hack."

A Run Through Windows Server 2008 403

amcdiarmid writes "Tom's Hardware has a review of Windows Server 2008 RC0 up on their site. It has a few good points, and at 19 pages is certainly 'in-depth'. From the article's conclusion: 'Microsoft has used the time since the release of Windows Server 2003 very well. The new Server Manager simplifies system administration immensely. Unlike Windows Vista, whose new dialogues still confuse even experienced users, Windows Server 2008 makes the admin feel right at home and in control ... However, it's not all sunshine, either. Although our test system used a beefy Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 with generous 2 GB of RAM, the Server's user interface felt sluggish with Windows being drawn very slowly ... Microsoft also gets low marks for failing to include SSH support in the operating system. On Linux servers, working without SSH is simply unthinkable. At least the Redmond company includes its encrypted remote shell WinRS. However, secure FTP is still a missing feature. The FTP client is being treated like an unloved stepchild, to the point where it is not even included in the Server Manager.'"
