The sound of an old rotating ditto machine. And the associated smell. ohhh. that smell...
Yah, I worked at an ISP back then and it when customers would complain that they were getting a slow connection, I'd have them hold the phone up to the modem speaker and try to connect so I could hear it and determine the connection speed and protocol. The BONG! mentioned above pegs it as a 56k modem string
I think the thing being missed here is that people are in a hurry. If I can fly a 747 from Seattle to Japan and the flight takes 14 hours, I would pay more to be able to do it in 7. That's an easy choice. Time spent in the air is generally wasted time. Turn trans-Pacific/Atlantic into a weekend trip instead of the current 3 days of travel time and there's a market for it.
The futuristic prediction that it would be economical to take a sub-orbital flight from NY to LA is probably not going to happen, but for trans oceanic and/or China/Japan to Europe. Definitely a market there.
I guess you just don't have any idea how hard it is to re-encode everything upside down do you? That's not free you know.
Works fine in Japan. Look up the FLETS system.
I live in Alaska. Never heard it uttered here. Strange.
I don't know about you, but I plan to live forever. Or die trying.
Sorry, but I've never heard "get fucked" uttered by someone from the USA. You appear to be an Aussie, mate.
I don't know about calling the library, but when I was a kid, we'd call 411 and ask questions. They were called "information".
It would seem that all of their sets are based on the original set plans which were designed for the 4:3 aspect ratio. Trying to shoot in a widescreen format would likely show parts of the set which weren't intended. I mean, check out how much of that bridge set is open plywood. That set requires some strictly framed shots to work right.
I was going to post RPGMaker as well. It has some good tools for character and story development. Picked this up for my kid a year or so ago. She loves it.
The proper reply was "Soon".
Under the Tools menu, there is an Experimental sub-menu. Select "Show duplicate files". Then I just deleted everything that shows up. Seems to work just fine. It's not automatic or anything, but it works.
Perhaps he was just burning CDs or DVDs.
