As George Carlin explains "this is the best we can do folks". Bloomberg is just a reflection of the people who vote this clown in.

..all your elected Congressmen and Senators elected by informed, focused voters who stay on top of issues like this. They all make sure these corporations will not get away with this...
If so, the fastest way to appease him is to cram your ego and make the changes
Problem is, as the OP was pointing out, is if you are spending all of your time appeasing and doing low level crap, while huge gaping holes of functionality are NOT being addressed because all of your working hours is spent appeasing everyone, your project is not going to be finished on time and the customers are not going to be happy. The term I have for this is "the process IS the product" where you're spending most of your 24hrs a day doing procedural crap instead of addressing the actual problems because you're mired in appeasing process people.
This attitude is precisely why modern day work environments never get anything accomplished anymore and large scale projects mostly go to crap.
This has nothing to do with "appearing weak". This has everything to do with deadlines not moving despite you being sick. Employers don't care about you being sick, they just want something shipped, and if you can't do that, they will find someone who will.
I'm assuming this means the LaserVue line is dropped as well? This sucks as I wanted one of those TVs someday... I've seen the picture on these and they are awesome! I thought this would be an alternative to Plasma...
Her refusal is based on an interpretation of the Bible. Is she never going to carry ID? I guess she win't be driving, joining a club, getting a job or leaving the country. All of these require carrying a numbered card which she refuses to do.
But according to some, without an ID she DEFINITELY should be allowed to vote!!!
What you've said is true, but you are only talking about the revenue portion of government (taxes). What also desperately needs to be addressed is what should the government be spending it's money in? And that leads to the question of what role(s) should the government be in?
For example, I don't think too many people are happy with Social Security except for the people who are currently on it. FDR though the government should play the role of managing people's retirement and it lead to the debacle it is in now.
So because a group of people thought it was a good idea for the government to manage people's retirement, now were stuck trying to figure out how to pay for it. Wouldn't be better to ask the question if government should be in the business of doing something in the first place rather than just doing it and figure out how to pay for it later?
I can feel it.
I know I'm going to get modded down by the hard core cycling nerds here, but having the ability to afford gas at reasonable prices means I can go places that I would normally NOT be able to go by bicycle or mass transportation. Locally that means many hiking places and recently a drive to the Sierra Nevada for hiking and fall leaves.
I know exactly how it feels to not be able to drive, and your whole world you can access shrinks rather tremendously. In some areas, you may not miss much, but in California and southwest in general there are whole worlds to see out there with easy access by car. Yeah yeah you MAY be able to swing it with a bicycle + train, but the logistics would be MUCH harder to do. And there are many places out west which don't accommodate mass transit very well.
Hey, and this is coming from a cycling nerd to move to California BECAUSE OF cycling and the weather to do so! And I've done a LOT of commuting by bicycle BEFORE it became fashionable or hip. All I'm saying is there's a balance and a place for cars as well as a place for bicycles.
When I used to live back East and tried riding a bicycle in the Winter, three issues turned me off of that. [1] Felt miserable when riding in either super cold or (worse) freezing rain [2] Felt even more miserable when sprayed with freezing slush from passing cars and [3] hit the ground unexpectedly and HARD when riding over a patch of ice. No sir, nobody can talk me into riding during winter again, sorry.
I am inspired by spaceships a LOT more when they are actually flying into space.
When the republicans temporarily shut down the government while budget battles raged on, we had 24/7 wall to wall coverage of this. Contrast this with today where absolute NO TV and virtually no newspaper coverage exists for this event. Why?
So where precisely should humans be? They were not always part of a city, they were just as much part of various environments on the earth as other species...
Curious on what kind of jobs can one do where you can be RV'ing while you work? I mean beyond the obvious "programming" or creative jobs where one can be tasked and then go off by themselves to work and meet later in an asynchronous fashion? I would think that most jobs require some type of constant "hands on" interaction where being off-line for a time would be detrimental?
