Are you gonna post it on SF? If so I wanna join...

What about a DIY blog on the arm. That could really come in handy. Especially at work in case I ever find myself attempting to explain to anyone in the office anything of a Tech nature ( all are iThing users).

I am seriously questioning how this even got fronted here on /.

Seriously, didn't they even check where the link lead to? I'd bet both my tabletts that it was a iWhatever jockey that posted it and another that frontpaged it.

Submission + - Juniper at the root of Internet outage? (networkworld.com)

alphadogg writes: Juniper routers are reportedly behind an Internet outage that affected service providers and Web sites around the globe Monday morning. The blogosphere was abuzz on reports that a core dump of main memory on Juniper routers knocked off sites worldwide. The core memory dump, which affected routers running Junos 10.2 and 10.3, was caused by a BGP update bug, according to tweets from affected sites. Juniper acknowledged that its edge routers were experiencing a BGP anomaly and that it issued a software fix. Earlier, Level 3 reported outages due to its routers but did not name the router vendor.

Submission + - What do you think of the E(LI)-Cat?

slydder writes: Let's accept for a moment (O.K., for the duration of this discussion), whether you personally believe it or not, that the E-Cat was actually tested and sold. That would mean we have a virtually unlimited source of energy in our hands. Depending on how it's further developed and whether or not it can hold up to it's claims in the long run will depend whether or not it's actually viable. Either way let's say, for this discussion, that it is a viable energy option inside the next 2 years at the latest. How about teaming this technology with ELI ( Extreme Light Infrastructure Ultra-High Field Facility )? It would solve many problems currently facing the ELI Project. For that matter it would solve quite a few energy based problems in research that we currently face (aside from the normal significance with such a E-Cat). What do you think?

"It would seem that Apple has to reimbuse Motorola for damages dating back to early 2002. OUCH!!!

Further, according to a story released on Saturday, Motorola has finally made a rather large dent in the Apple offensive. It would seem that, effective immediately, Apple is not allowed to sell any mobile devices in Germany. This is apparently due to two (2) infringements against Motorola wireless patents."

just so you know. Apple must, according to the judgement that I read through, has to pay Moto damages dating back to as early as the beginning of 2002.

And, as some have most assuradely already noted, this ruling is against Apple Inc. which many believe doesn't actually sell anything in Germany. The problem is the German Apple sites are owned directly by Apple Inc. and so the Lawyers are still discussing if they may have to be shutdown or whatever. Still waiting to see.

Submission + - How not to handle a security bug

mvdwege writes: "Calibre is a cross platform application to manage collections of ebooks. It provides you with a set of helpers that, among other things, allow you to easily upload content from your PC to your ebook reader. Unfortunately, instead of relying on system tools, the author has written his own mount helper to manage removable devices, and as usual with people inventing the wheel themselves made a series of critical security mistakes, such as overlooking race conditions. In a setuid application no less. The ensuing discussion is a prime example on how not to handle a security bug report."
