Computers are infallible. If a computer 'says' something we know that it is correct. The link between the assumptions that make the model and the model itself is seamless and is science. In this 'science' experiment is not needed and is possibly even harmful.

You learn the truth about the world from building your computer model. This isn't the 19th century anymore. Now we have computers. Actually doing something out there in meatspace to observe what happens when you try it is crude and unnecessary and in any case is subject to human error.

Don't question the assumption-model connection because computer models = science and the people who code the models are scientists. The fact that those people are 'scientists' also means they are correct. Who are you to question them? You'd better at least have a PhD in the relevant field.

Well no one is forcing him to live in one of the most expensive areas in the world (assuming it actually is). I make less than 15k per year after taxes and I don't really consider myself poor. In the country I'm living in now the average income is about $250 per month or about $3000 USD per year. In Laos most people make about $1200 per year. In Cuba the average person makes less than $200 per year. No I did not miss a zero there. I don't see myself as poor.

But I guess making nearly $6000 per month is poor now. I've never made more than $2000 per month at any point in my entire life. I can't imagine what kind of job is worth paying someone that much. There are prostitutes who make much less than that. So is someone who makes $200,000 per year poor if they live in an expensive area of Manhattan and pay like 10000 per month in rent? That would be a very odd use of the word 'poor'.

Who gets to decide how fast is 'unsafe'? You? Driving faster than some ridiculously slow and arbitrary limit does not make the roads less safe. People have tried what use to sometimes be referred to as a 'double opt out'. That is you opt out of the xray scanner and then you also opt out of the genital fondling as well.

This would generally mean you could not fly that day and that you could be subject to a $10,000 fine but afaik not a single person has ever been fined for doing so and no one has ever been detained for doing this either. So it is possible. I had been determined to do the double opt out before I finally fled the fucking crazy states of america for good.

Now the xray scanners that chertoff was so well paid for buying us have been phased out and replaced with the more benign mmw scanners with privacy software so as not to give all the homosexual TSA screeners wood every time a guy goes through. Good point about the double standard. If homosexuality were truly accepted as normal there would be no reason to disallow opposite sex molestations. If we are forced to have limited sexual contact with someone in order to fly at the very least they should pay attention to our sexual preferences. Well if you mean games like Zork and Wizard and the Princess and Space Invaders and Crush, Crumble, and Chomp, and Archon and Adventure and Super Star Trek, and Castle Wolfenstein then I agree. I don't play those games anymore. But if you mean, say, Baldur's Gate II, Icewind Dale, Arx Fatalis, and Temple of Elemental Evil then I replay these games all the time. At least a full playthrough once per year. It is not pointless at all since truly great games are rare.
