Comment How could you trust any device they hand back? (Score 2) 462

Even if your device is encrypted, you will have to throw it away after they hand it back to you. If you boot it, you are going to be running their code and they own the machine regardless of the encryption.
I know at least one corporation that will not let its employees travel oversees with laptops.

Comment Clone the drive before you get started (Score 1) 310

Clone the original drive before you make any changes or investment in the new machine. That way, you can go back to the original factory finish any time you want. It will give you extra confidence in making changes or installing other operating systems.
You should not rely on the re-installation tools provided by the manufacturer. They don't always work.

Comment And no tail number or accountability (Score 1) 78

A pilot has a license and has to be tested and qualify. And he risks losing his livelyhood if he misbehaves with a plane. He risks his life too. These drones have no geometry for mounting a tail identification. And the operator has no license to put in jeopardy. He can even claim that the unit was on autofly at the time of an incident. Or he can claim that someone else was operating or interfering with the operation of the aircraft. Therefore there is no accountability.

Comment Why is it so hard to have a mute button? (Score 1) 384

If you never want to see a comment by a poster again, then you hit the mute button on that person and their comments are never seen again. Like they dont exist. The server can track how many mutes are on a person and if enough are there, then a human can step in and scope the individual and issue a reprimand if necessary. Of course if you mute someone then automatically you are muted for them...its always bi-directional whoever initiates it. Would that be so hard?

Comment I second this. But xbox has really good clients (Score 1) 174

I really agree that Xbox360 should not charge for using streaming clients. Unfortunately, they seem to be the best clients for those services. Less skipping and lagging. Maybe its more memory to play with or a faster processor, but I prefer to watch on 360. And I dont want to prefer that because I dont want to pay again. And again. And again. Forever. Its intolerable! I need to figure out how much money a used 360 will bring. Maybe a roku3 will be just as good and I can put the money to that. I only have to pay them once.

doesnt the danger remain? The total rads you get is not as important is not as important as how you get those rads. If you inhale a particle, your body cannot dispel it and it will mutate your genes and kill you with cancer. Even minimal radiation, if constantly directed at you by an internalized particle will still kill you.
