Is it Virtual-Reality TV, or is it Virtual Reality-TV ??? Where that Hyphen goes makes all the difference.

One is a horrible, cheap, dull, painful-to-watch excuse for a TV series, and the other is a not-ready-for-prime-time, slow, dizzy, flutter-filled crap-fest that wants to be the Holodeck.

Essentially, the two should have nothing in common, save for the fact that both make me want to throw-up. Combining the two should theoretically be the worst thing on earth, which means TV producers will love it.

Oil is a renewable resource, assuming you're willing to wait 85 million years. When we all die, our bodies will eventually create oil, just as the dinosaurs did, for the next species to rise up and use. You just gotta wait a really, really long time.

That explains the increase I just saw in my bill. An extra $15... they are already trying to squeeze their customers to pay for the fine.

Ah, the race to the bottom. And at what point will the Minimum Wage TSA agents be remotely flying the planes? And then the airlines get the bright idea to outsource all that to India or maybe Vietnam?

On various news sites, I see what are obviously paid Republican Trolls, Paid Pro-Koch Brothers Trolls, they come in day after day under various identities but having the same writing style, and post comment after comment (sometimes the same comment multiple times on multiple sites).

So exactly what's the difference...

Sooner or later, greed trumps useability. Companies are going to screw one another over in attempts to dominate. We, the users of the internet, lose when these entities play their games on one another, and sooner or later we are going to take to take our marbles and go home -- it's not worth it to play.

I feel we have already reached this state; between the NSA essentially hacking every router as it leaves the factory to China issuing false certs to Google putting their own interests at the top of every search, it seems that the time has come to either consider some international organization to regulate the internet, or abandon TCP/IP and start again with a whole new internet based on something else. Clean sheet.

The way we are currently headed will breed a cesspool of an internet you can't trust for anything -- so why would you use it for shopping, news, banking, or any other activity if you KNOW that every single time you do, you will regret using this medium for anything?

If Amazon, Google, CNN, and heck even Facebook want to stay in business, they need to learn to stop fucking around with their users, because I've essentially had it, and I'm guessing that I cannot be alone in my disdain and distrust of what has become of an internet I used to like.

In the USA, the relatively small number of pirates are treated worse than murderers and rapists, but in China, where piracy accounts for 80% of all desktops, there is amnesty. Go figure.

Ladies and Gentlemen; the solution is not simply to provide kids with an education. We've got to shake up the constant warfare, dictatorships and starvation.

And there is a solution. It's called commerce.

Ladies and Gentlemen; I present the humble Volkswagen Beetle. The original I mean --the rear-engined, air-cooled one.

The tooling for the car exists in both Brazil and Mexico, where it's no longer made, so that is cheap to aquire. You then need to build a factory, which employs people, and you need to start building the car, which employs people. This builds the economy; which creates other businesses.

People then buy the car, and the car can be exported into other African nations. Furthermore, you stamp out parts for export worldwide, to countries where the car used to be sold, to those who still run them.

The car is perfect for Africa, where roads are not great, and the car is durable, simple, easy to repair, and cheap on gas. Its construction is some African Nation would raise the economy of the entire continent.

And then they can build their own schools instead of needing the money of billionaires.

So, it's basically SETI at home, but for asteroids? I remember doing 10,000 units for SETI, on a bunch of 486's I salvaged out of a dumpster that I installed RedHat Linux on... Those were the days....

As long as it doesn't affect DOOM. And by that I mean the original, which I'm still playing after 2 decades.

In 10 years, half of humanity will have had enough of this bullshit and will have hacked their way to privacy, or have decided that the internet just isn't worth it, or will have adapted multiple identities so as to confuse others.

And I should know, as I am traditionally an early-adopter, and have taken all three paths myself. I am also currently at the point of thinking it's better to destroy the current internet and rebuild it -- but without all the bullshit.

The jobs market is so bad in Mexico that thousands cross the border daily to get into the USA. The cartels would be better off setting up a dummy company and hiring IT guys to simply do the work, no questions asked.

Why go through all the extra trouble of kidnapping people and making them work? In the end, if they are smart, they'll figure a way to get out a message or screw you some other way. Much simpler and more secure to simply hire them.

Heck, they are IT guys. Get them a couple of hot women who don't mind getting naked and blow them, and those IT guys will do whatever you want. Much easier.

The film is going into production in 2016, which means that it won't see theaters until at least 2017 == THE YEAR THE ORIGINAL MOVIE TAKES PLACE IN.

That means this is no longer a sequel to a sci-fi movie, it's a straight up drama taking place in contemporary times.

And while Blade Runner got a lot right, Deckard makes a video-phone call from a phone booth because in 1980 no-one imagined a smart phone. Will they be using cell-phones in this sequel or will they keep to cannon?

And, having just seen the 2014 Robocop movie; I can honestly say that this upcoming film won't get anything right, as Robocop was a dull, i repeat dull action movie, missing everything that made the original one of the finest films of all time. There was no satire, no pathos, no snarky jabs at the media and American consumerism, and no humor. It was terrible. All it was, was a reminder of how utterly brilliant the original was.

My guess is that after this sequel comes out, we'll be trying to 'unsee it' and waxing poetic about how original and thought provoking the original was, and how flat, and full of fail this film is.
