At the request of the Dutch government, Microsoft is delaying the update in the Netherlands (home of DigiNotar) until next week, to avoid confusion (and to buy the government more time to roll out new certs).

I feel much safer now, knowing our government has the power to stop Microsoft from rolling out security updates in a country.

I'm in the Netherlands and I got the patch just fine.
Must be because I use the English version of Windows

beelsebob writes: Very well known is the iBook G3 logic board failure issue, however, less well known is that iBook G4s have been failing with the same symptoms almost as regularly. The G4 variant of the laptop is not covered by Apple's logic board repair program, thus if it dies, it's dead. Or so we thought, until recently. An enterprising guy has posted a fix for the problem that works simply by sticking a tiny bit of plastic under a chip.

Submission + - Older Passengers May Suffer More from Jet Lag

JusticeISaid writes: The Washington Post is running a story today about a recent study by University of Virginia researchers which suggests that older passengers may suffer more from jet lag than younger ones. The research methodology involved advancing or retarding the exposure to light of laboratory mice; this produced a significantly higher rate of mortality among older mice than younger ones. The study also confirmed the widely held belief that it is more difficult to adjust to crossing time zones on Eastbound flights than when flying West. The Post article suggests that passengers flying from North America to Europe try to throttle their exposure to light on arrival — but the only sure fix is to travel by ship. No doubt it's also a good idea to leave your aging pet mice at home.
