Journal Journal: Old machines...

I mean really old machines, 486DX66's and P100's.

Im supposed to believe that my job means something when I am asked to get several of these working from a pile of quesionable hardware (reliability, not source).

I mean I understand that making me do it because I am least likely to fuck it all up no end is possibly a complement (if they cannot trust the people who are supposed to do this work, why not replace them?!?!) I have better shit to do to/on/with/at our servers fixing up the internal infrastructure a tad.

So I find out why we have to do this, since the guy who was previously doing most of the sys admin stuff (before I started) left, machines have not had shitty software installed on them every few weeks, major network changes were not implemented every few weeks, so we must be doing nothing, right? Well that how the fucking management look at it. It makes me wonder why i bother trying to do a good fucking job!

Enough of my bitching!

Education

Journal Journal: University

Why is it that lecturers in a 3rd year subject still teach as if they had first years in the course. FFS, get over it, and give us some decent work to do. Yes I work full time (40 hours pw), but i need a mental challenge damnnit!
