I agree with you about a lot of stuff - I want local copies of anything I can even though I am usually well within my LTE coverage zone.
I use Subsonic to stream music, though, because I don't have room on my phone for all my music, and I'd rather be able to choose what I listen to on the fly rather than have to decide before I leave.
Subsonic, however, does have a cache setting. I have mine set to 10 GB, and no track limit. So if you know you'll be offline or out of coverage, you can load up a playlist while at home on your WiFi and it'll automatically get cached. You can then use Subsonic in Offline Mode, or you can use any other music player to play the cached files. That's what I did last time I flew somewhere, and it worked perfectly. Best of both worlds, really.
Subsonic is pretty nice. It's what I, too, use to stream my music, since I definitely can't fit all of it on my phone. And yeah, it's all CDs I own and have ripped (well, 99% CDs, there are occasional single-tracks I bought).
The app is free, but they do charge for the server software.
Yeah, ME3 has a multiplayer portion which was kind of an afterthought but a lot of people (myself included) really like it.
Why do they always have to do this when I have a bout of insomnia and would really like to get online and shoot some Geth? Ugh.
I know for 100% fact I'm not colourblind...
That's actually not a cure. It's a treatment, and it works, but it's not a cure.
I started doing that about 7 years ago. I was never obese, but I was overweight and I ate a lot (and I mean a LOT) of crap.
So, I stopped eating crap, and started getting a lot more exercise. I didn't lose any weight but I lost a whole lot of fat. My A1C last check was 6.1, and my glucose levels tend to be normal... but.
If I go eat a pizza right now, my blood sugar will still spike. It probably won't go a LOT above 200, but it will get there and stay there for a lot longer than a non-diabetic. Now my way of dealing with that is to never EVER eat anything with as many carbs in it as a pizza would have, and limit my carb intake to early in the day before I do the whole exercise thing.
I'm at the point where I've got it pretty much under control (much to the chagrin of my original doctor which I have since moved on from for obvious reasons) but I would love, love, LOVE a cure. Diabetes forced me to develop the tools and discipline to stay in shape, and I would likely still do that, but I do miss soo much good food.
*laughs* ok, you win THIS time! (;
Duh. You use a 2D battery!
Finally, someone who knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
Hell if you want to impress me, make a 2D phone. That'd be pretty cool unless you drop it on it's side and chop off your foot.
I like this trend. Ok, it's not a trend yet but I hope it will be. Yeah, I'll probably never make it into space and even if I do it'll probably only be "technically" space, rather than OH MY GOD I'M IN SPACE. But this is something I've always wanted to do, but I'd rather not spend $5K on it.
So come on, more competition, preferably while I'm still young!
Depends on the topic. We're very predictable about this particular topic that I was dead-on.
Given that this is Slashdot, I could pretty much predict the results without even looking. In fact, they're exactly where I guessed they'd be, for once...
Works perfectly for me... granted, I tend to only use it for one Simpsons episode at a time, but I have streamed full 2+ hour 1080p movies with DTS sound on the thing, and have used it for a few days when my regular media center was down. It's never been more sluggish than any other XBMC implementation I've tried...
