Don't worry about it.
Don't worry about it.
An article on CNN has a few more details.
Their next generation, out in four years, will offer "Maximum Plaid." No, really.
Leaving their claims unchallenged encourages them as well.
We can't cure stupid. Yet.
No. But I'm not talking about curing stupid. Primarily, I'm talking about innoculating others from their nonsense.
For them, it's not about the facts. It's about a struggle to control the narrative. Refuting their claims makes it harder for them to do that.
Alas, they need to be refuted first. Then ignored and (hopefully) forgotten.
These people won't go away. The counter-argument to their nonsense needs to be on the record.
Why are we paying any attention to these people at all? To do so only encourages.
Leaving their claims unchallenged encourages them as well. Or worse, it encourages others to be deceived and to embrace their crackpot theories.
Sadly, somebody needs to address the unsustainable claims made by these nutters. It's tedious, but essential. Refute the error, assert the truth. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Really cool movie.
Yes, but with lots of inaccuracies.
the old word for a bag, of course, is "poke" (as in: "don't buy a pig in a poke"). When they first came up with the idea of sewing the purse right into a pair of pants, they called the result a little poke: pok-ette. Or, as we say now, pocket.
Interesting. The French word for pocket is poche. It fits.
If drunken sing-alongs are the only music that matters to you, then it's clear prima facie that you are not a very sophisticated consumer of music, streaming or otherwise.
You are welcome to your tastes. I don't share them.
Mod parent up. There have been too many click-bait headlines like this lately on slashdot.
Bose products are spectacularly over-hyped. But they're not all that bad.
Personally, I'd rather buy something else. That said, I wouldn't question the taste of an audio expert (like the GP) who happens to think well of them.
Worse. He's claiming that AM has better sound quality than streaming.
Citation please. Seriously.
Good analog is better than shitty digital.
Shitty analog is, well, just shitty.
Thanks - so why don't the charm and the anti-charm go "poof" ?
They might not be antiparticles of each other, as they might differ in color charge.
I think that would violate color confinement because the resulting pentaquark would have a net color.
Red up quark, blue down quark, blue charmed quark, green up quark, antiblue anti-charmed quark. Net color = R+B+B+G-B = R+B+G = colorless. (Shamelessly lifted from the "2015 LHCb results" section of the Wikipedia page for the pentaquark.)
Wait
Did you mean to swap the blue and green on the charmed and up quarks? That would in fact make the charmed quarks not anti-particles to each other. I'm not sure that's even possible (I'm not an expert on the standard model, let alone pentaquarks) but I assume it would at least not violate Pauli exclusion (because the two up-quarks aren't the same color.)
I'm not sure about that being "really" bright, but point taken. It's within the operating range of a good smartphone camera.
Since the amount of light that is cast on an object is exponential with regard to distance
You mean inverse-square with respect to distance. The inverse-square law applies when the source is a point (or uniformly-luminous sphere that is far enough away.)
Pluto is about 40 AU away from the Sun, whereas the Earth is 1 AU away. That means sunlight on Pluto's surface is about 1/40^2 = 1/1600 as bright as on the Earth's surface. That's dim, but not hard to record with good optics, a sensitive detector, and enough exposure time.
IIRC, they said the postulated radioactive core would not provide enough energy to create what they now see.
Ya'll hear about the geometer who went to the beach to catch some rays and became a tangent ?
