I don't know where you come from, but if a windmill or a wind turbine makes any noise at all, it is time to put some grease on the bearings. Modern wind turbines run at their own pace and synchronize the frequency themselves before adding the power to the grid. And what I really cannot understand is why people complain about wind turbines being ugly and not about flood-lighted billboards. These are really ugly, but nobody complains about them.

Oh yes. I don't think they have zero rupee notes or an equivalent in the USA. At least in Europe we sure could use a € 0,- note. Just look at how Greece is being extorted by the international financial sector.

Funny, if they can steal your card along with the codes (you have to pay, right?), this means that all your money can be stolen. If I pay with cash, they can only steal the amount of cash I happen to carry on my person. Apart from that, digital currency is just made up by a regular bank when issuing a loan, while paper money is at least a bit more official. Our banking and money system is so fucked up we should depend less on banks, not more.

The same as you do with the regular waste, I think. Where I live, compost is collected separately. Anyway, collecting compost is a lot easier that purifying water.

Sorry, but why do you shit in drinking water to begin with? Just use a compost toilet. The composting process kills almost every known disease, and if it is your own toilet, you know what diseases went in, so you know what can come out (it probably won't, and if it does, your body has learned to cope with it). It's literally dirt cheap, low-tech, and can be implemented almost anywhere. And you get better compost as well. See the Humanure Handbook for all the details.

A hangglider instructor once told me the exact opposite. He experimented with 3d simulators and abandoned them because after the use of the simulator, the pupils took twice as long to learn how to fly as the pupils who never used the simulator.

Actually, hell would not exactly freeze over if you block Google. In fact, if they did, people would just use another search engine (IXquick, DuckDuckGo or others) and almost every web site would load a lot faster without the cross-site scripting attack from Google. As a second advantage, people might start to think twice before handing their entire life to some evil company when it comes to documents or agendas.

When I read contest or lottery rules, it always states that the people who work at the organising organisation are not allowed to participate in it. Even if everybody plays fair, an organiser winning his own lottery will be suspected of foul play.

Not only could we do it, we have already done so. The 18th century was the century where a sawmill was actually a mill. Like this one. Mills made cement, drilled canons, ground paint, tobacco, oak bark and corn, kept our feet dry, pressed oil, made felt and more. Many of them still do, for historical reasons. I think you do pay for the wifi. In hotels, it is usually not "free wifi" but "wifi included in the package". If you only visit the hotel without renting a room it may still be open, but it is meant for the paying guests.
