Many years ago I was working at a comic con, and our booth had helium balloons. Near the end of day 2, we were all getting bored, and started doing the helium voice to amuse ourselves.
Right after I took one big hit, I hear a woman's voice behind me.. I turn around and there is one of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen. Realizing I had the opportunity of a lifetime, I raised my eyebrows suggestively and said "Hey baby, you ever make it with a Keebler Elf?"
While it got a laugh from her, I didn't get her phone #.
I realize that. However my criticism is about the time travel we *did* see on TV.
Curse of Peladon/Monster of Peladon were series 9 and 11 respectively. We see the Doctor (with Jo in "Curse" and Sarah in "Monster") when he first arrives on the Peladon and steps out of the Tardis.
Planet of the Spiders was Jon Pertwee's last series - we see the time travel actually happen.
So I'm not sure what you're on about. Perhaps you're responding to the wrong post?

So to answer your question - I certainly tried, but my post here will have to do.
I noticed that on the master sheet, he went from "Day of the Dinosaurs" to "Ark in Space" - missing the Jon Pertwee stories "Death to the Daleks", "The Monster of Peladon", "Planet of the Spiders", and the Tom Baker story "Robot"
I know he says that the master sheet only contains those which have time travel, but this is clearly false - "The Monster of Peladon" takes place a century after "The Curse of Peladon", which is also missing. Also, in "Planet of the Spiders", takes place both in the 1970s, and far in the future (he speaks with a civilization made up of the descendents of a wrecked Earth space ship.)
This is the classic case of people brainwashed by media to believe that copyright is designed to reward creators, rather than to enrich the public domain. The only solution is to make them think.
From your story, they seem to understand where the source material came from.. so begin explain why creation of something shouldn't give you rights over it, like this:
"Suppose you were going to build a house. You bought a plot of land, and had building materials delivered. The day you go to start building, you find that someone had already used your materials and built a house on the land! Do you own it, or do they?"
When they give the expected answer of "I own it because the material and land is mine", respond with "then why is it that when Disney makes something from material belonging to others, *they* get to own it?"

You seem to be under the impression that having the law on your side means that you won't be harassed by lawyers.
This is the sort of thing that EFF jumps all over.
And that makes the harassment worthwhile?
Just because you might be able to get your legal defense for free doesn't mean that the harassment from the FBI, being arrested, potentially losing your job, etc. is all OK.

Seriously - it's an antivirus company. If they told you what it was called, you wouldn't need to buy their services.

If you install something that says "THIS WILL COST YOU MONEY", and it sends SMS that costs you money, how exactly is that a "trojan"?
1) Metmod. I know lots of people think metamod doesn't work, but I think it does - it's imperfect but it's the best way to avoid handing moderation to people who make moderations most people disagree with.
See here for an explanation of why metamod doesn't work. I stopped using metamod ages ago.
2) Posting rule. This might be even more effective - the fact fact that you cannot moderate AND post. Since most people want to weigh in on a topic it means people moderating are willing to hang back and moderate up stuff the agree with, more than moderate down... yes you could bury a bunch of stuff but at the risk of posts you think are good getting buried too. This arms race means that generally more posts will get modded up.
.. because sockpuppets are so difficult to create?
Sorry, but what stops a "/.patriot" from opening multiple browsers each with their own accounts? if one account isn't eligible to moderate today, use it to post.
