Nothing is perfect yet, but Proton and Wine have both advanced by leaps and bounds, and the amount of games on Steam with native Linux ports have also skyrocketed. I'd say it's worth a try if you have a little patience, but getting help from the right sector of the community makes a big difference too.

Probably depends on whether this figure includes Steam Deck users or not, but I suspect it does because a whole 4% of all desktop users being "developers" seems unlikely.

Usually this just means the live usb ships with the non-free drivers but for a regular install you have to know to install them explicitly afterwards.

OpenLDAP

I was surprised to find out that it's not uncommon for "Windows-only" IT departments to think they're using Active Directory when actually they're using OpenLDAP.

I'm sure the only reason they've finally decided to fix this because I simply stopped using my phone.

Truthfully, the practical applications for this technology are 10% clever novelty and 90% pure, utterly society-destroying evil, so I'd say we all dodged a bullet on this one, if I wasn't sure some other jackasses were just going to take up the charge instead.
