Comment ANVISA: one of the most respectable agencies here (Score 1) 110

ANVISA is suffering a lot of pressure from politicians and, in some cases, companies that are expecting to make big money. But they're clearly inspecting all incoming vaccines with scientific approach. For all current allowed vaccines here, they spent a reasonable time deeply investigating, verifying scientific papers with studies and visting the manufacturer site.

So far, ANVISA approved Pfizer, Oxford and Sinovac.

The pro-Bolsonaro group is pressuring ANVISA to give the green for the India one, Covaxin, but ANVISA said it has flaws.

The extreme leftists are pressuring ANVISA to give the green for the Sputnik one, including an giant Russian investor group.

A lot of the politicians even tried to approve laws to force ANVISA to give the green if any "big" country has approved a vaccine. Let's see how far ANVISA can resist to our stupid politicians.

Sorry, but this certification is bullshit. It's a way easier to the actual Unix tools in modern versions in any Linux distro then in Mac. Default bash? Really old... want to install something in the command line? The poor apt cousin, brew. The reason why all Ruby servers are Linux. The good side of Mac is be Unix with an awesome UI and commercial support. Like a Unix for the end user with commercial support.

In the recent days, my first question about a notebook is: has non soldered RAM and storage? Before some fanboy start to defend any brand, I'm not USA based, so a laptop is super expensive in my county, and I really like the option to extend its life upgrading RAM and storage.
