But perhaps posting it again will provide some insight.

Bill:

See page 26 section 122 for what is covered and what is not. In it is referenced the:
Guide to Clinical Preventive Services, 2008
Recommendations of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force

No
cost sharing for preventive services. See also page 28, line 21 of the bill.
Page 29, line 2 of the bill states the starting levels of cost sharing is $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for a family.
What confuses me[1] is on one hand they say that preventive services are not covered yet they state later that they cover grade A and grade B level services only:
(8) Preventive services, including those services recommended with a grade of A or B by the Task Force on Clinical Preventive Services and those vaccines recommended for use by the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
This means that if you search that PDF for
grade: c
or
grade: d
You will see what is not covered and why. The list is too long to fully detail here but it does not cover screening for things like some forms of cancer (testicular, pancreatic, etc), coronary heart disease, most forms of VD, hepatitis b or c, elevated blood lead levels in children or pregnant women, scoliosis in adolescents or postmenopausal hormone therapy, and many more. I saw nothing regarding gastrointestinal screening in there at all.
So it looks like some things are covered, but if you need more attention you either need money to purchase a higher level of service (providing you are employed) or just deal with it.[2]
As it is, some people think that this plan is
laughable. What are the odds that Congress is going to pass
House Resolution 615?
----------
1). Seriously. How do they expect people to make heads or tails of this stuff. Does it mean that you have to pay out of pocket for the basics (page 26 section 122) and everything else is cost shared or do they mean that the basics are free and everything else is cost shared?
2). Do they
even care?
