Comment This will end up making more wars (Score 1) 252

War is about a political issue solved through the use of force. A limitation on wars is the perceived politcial costs among your own population. (I.E. dead soldiers mean problems at home with political support)

If you remove the human costs you also remove the politcial costs. So in essence a roboticized military will probably encourage wars....

Submission + - ABC - takes Gravel and Paul out of running

isotope23 writes: After leaving Ron Paul out of their online poll for "who won the Republican debates"? ABC now has left both Paul and Gravel out of their list of candidates running for president in 2008 How exactly does ABC "overlook" including the two staunchly anti-war candidates (both of whom were in nationally televised debates) in their list? Does ABC stand for "Already Been Chosen" at this point? Update after pressure from Digg users, ABC has listed Paul in their poll and restarted it, however both Gravel and Paul are still not listed in the PDF.

Submission + - ABC news and What happened to the 10th candidate?

isotope23 writes: Regardless of your political stripe, this country is supposed to be about freedom of speech and ideas. There were 10 candidates in the Republican debates last night, so why did ABC only list 9 in their "who won the debate last night" poll? It's kind of hard IMO to "overlook" the Only Republican candidate who voted AGAINST the Iraq war from the start. Is it any wonder people are looking to the internet for alternate news sources as opposed to the "Mainstream Media"??? Perhaps a quick comment to ABC is in order?
