Comment Re:Ban sugar you stupid assholes. (Score 1) 520

Um, no. Trans fats are man made products (almost non-existant in nature) which your body can't deal with and can barely remove once consumed. Sugar is an essential ingredient for all sorts of foods and even a preservative (it's hard to reduce water activity without it, unless you turn to other not so natural products), that is fine for you in moderation. This isn't about trans-fats making people fat. This isn't about legislating good diet. This is about stopping the addition of a very harmful laboratory product to our food.

Comment Re:The Surveillance State is now official (Score 2) 510

Our new surveillance laws already have a loophole for just this purpose, too. The NSA can't spy on Americans, but it can and does save any evidence of a crime being committed in it's database. The FBI and DOJ both have access to the database. Thus, any evidence of any crime being committed is automatically stored and passed on to the FBI and DOJ.

Comment The only news is the supporting documentation (Score 2) 145

I've been assuming GCHQ has had their hands as dirty as they get in this ever since they detained Greenwald's partner a few months back. They were terribly concerned with seeing what exactly the Journalists had on them, so it's been reasonable to assume they've been figuring out whether they can cover this up or not. They've had months to prepare themselves for this revelation, I just hope they come up with a better plan then directing the attention to Snowden himself instead of what he's saying- that plan's getting old.

Comment How Lucrative? How to switch? (Score 1) 289

I don't know if there's anyone else like me around to make this question worthwhile, but how feasible is it to make the switch to security without a degree in CS? I've been reversing games and writing (game) hacks for years and there is considerable crossover between my skill set and reversing malware. Does anyone have any advise on ways to pursue an income without resorting to selling hack subscriptions?
