Submission + - LG Optimus 2X: world's first dual-core smartphone

An anonymous reader writes: LG Electronics has unveiled the LG Optimus 2X, the world's first smartphone with a dual-core processor. The LG Optimus 2X will be available in Korea next month with countries in Europe and Asia to follow. The phone will initially be released with Android 2.2 (codenamed Froyo) and will be upgradeable to Android 2.3 (codenamed Gingerbread). The upgrade schedule to Gingerbread has yet to be announced.

LG boasts that Nvidia's dual-core Tegra 2 system-on-a-chip makes browsing, gaming, and using applications faster, lets users multitask with virtually no screen lag, and has very low power consumption but high performance for playing video and audio. The LG Optimus 2X can connect wirelessly to any DLNA-compatible digital device (most are HDTVs). The smartphone also includes an accelerometer, gyroscopic sensor, and a Micro-USB port.

"YOU PEOPLE"?
Hey now. Take a breath. I have insurance, and I pay PLENTY for it. I take responsibility, and I don't even need big brother government to make me. You need to take a breath, and a look in the mirror if you think you need the government to force people to make every move and decision. If that is what you need and want, I am sure that you can go to one of MANY countries that are happy to do those things for you. You have PLENTY of choices if that is what you desire. Please, feel free to explore and even exercise one of these options. As for me, I don't need a babysitter.

What a well thought out, logical and reasonable idea. Thats why the government will never go for it. If you want those ideas to ever see the light of day you had better find a way to give renumeration to the congress people and senators who would carry it forward, as that seems to be the only way things currently get done.

This is still EXPONENTIALLY less expensive than insurance. Especially with the recent jumps in premiums (arguabley brought on by this program)

$750 seems like a bargain for many people. Fortunately I am working for an employer who has better benifits than my last, but a year ago I was out $1300 a month for health insurance. And if you are self employed, WOA NELLY!!!

How can it possibly be constitutional to force someone sitting at home who has no insurance to leave that home, to forcibly purchase anything? It is like forcing a license to live.

While I think it foolish not to purchase said insurance if possible, I cannot see anyway to legally compel this action by force.

people have given their votes to current administration on a number of election promises. NONE of these have been fulfilled, and even this administration pursued acta even more fervently than the former.

so, public's opinion, mattered ZIT.

what makes you think, it will effect anything for this matter ?

I can assure you that it will not change with this administration, or the next, or the next. FOLLOW THE MONEY. They filter MILLIONS to these politicians in order to pull the power to their side, regardless of logic, morality or law. It boils down to the golden rule, "he with the gold makes the rules" and this administration. like those before it, and those who will follow, owe too much to the ball bags who are the oppressors. The politicians have too much to lose financially to bite the proverbial hand which feeds them.

While the age of hackers in movies seems to have increased lately (Die Hard 4, the most braindead one yet when you ignore television shows them as paranoid 20-somethings), they aren't shown as particularly mature.

Yea, it's unusual for Hollywood to stick so close to the truth... lol
