Samsung Warns of Severe Chip Crunch While Delaying Key Phone (bloomberg.com) 35

Samsung Electronics warned it's grappling with the fallout from a "serious imbalance" in semiconductors globally, becoming the largest tech giant to voice concerns about chip shortages spreading beyond the automaking industry. From a report: Samsung, one of the world's largest makers of chips and consumer electronics, expects the crunch to pose a problem to its business next quarter, co-Chief Executive Officer Koh Dong-jin said during an annual shareholders meeting in Seoul. The company is also considering skipping the introduction of a new Galaxy Note -- one of its best-selling models -- this year, though Koh said that was geared toward streamlining its lineup.

We have a local bridge that is a favorite among suicidal folk. On guy who landed feet first got stuck in some mud and survived. The paramedics found him still alive though his legs were pushed up into his rib cage. I don't remember if he ultimately survived but I'm sure he was in some pretty intense agony for several hours.

Web cams used to come with software that let you adjust the quality. Color, saturation, brightness/contrast, white balance... It was never the best quality but at least you had some level of control. Now they try to be smart and do it all for you and if you don't like it... oh well...

Can someone please explain to me (someone outside of the USA) what the point of downplaying this is?

To own the Libs. He thinks by opposing the Libs it will energize his base and get him reelected.

There is not a single position by the Libs that he will publicly acknowledge or agree with. Any bipartisan cooperation was deliberately tossed out the window 4 years ago and its now an "us vs them".
