Computer malware could screw badly your REAL life. It should be a real example to show to people that aren't concerned about security, uses insecure practices/browsers/operating systems/whatever.

Meh, perhaps I didn't make it clear enough. I just want to try it with pair of RF shielded boxers. I don't care about the metal detector, I'll let them try to figure out why it's going off and why their scanner does not work. Last time I read the rules, they did not have anything banning silver threaded underwear. It's not banned, nor dangerous, therefore they must let me pass. Blank stares and shrugs should answer any other questions sufficiently.

I'm not worried about the "danger", I just wanted to check around before I drop $100 on RF impervious underclothing (yep, it exists). It could be fun if they put those scanners in at my local airport.

I actually like to eat real food. Before I quit going to movies, I'd bring quesedillas, or a pizza or similar from the restaurant across the street. The ticket takers never even looked twice.

Guess we'll just have to wait to see how the thing plays out. If it's as bad as the 1918 bug, I doubt if there is a heck of a lot we can do to slow it down. I just don't see how fanning the flames of hysteria (as I see on the news) is going to help much. Maybe I'm watching the wrong channels, but I'm not seeing them mention survival rates, just body count and a color coded map of suspected incidents that narrow it all the way down to the STATE level. Just my opinion, and hell, I'm an IT guy, so that counts for bunk :

Sorry, I'm just not that worried about it. Perhaps I'm just oversaturated with TV News disasters that never actually effect midwest USA. You can assume this is the 1918 flue-redu and hide in your basement if you like. Myself, I'm going to go to work tomorrow like normal. The fact that it's spreading rapidly in Mexico city, which is known for poor sanitation and overcrowding does not surprise me. So far the reported survival rate looks decent, I'll take my chances. It's still a bit early to seal up the bomb shelter in my opinion.

Yawn. Just another "Disaster of the week" the news outlets are hyping to boost their ratings. I'll be concerned when it becomes more than nervous hand wringing by the talking heads.
