The problem is these "admins" are acting on behalf of the various Wikipedia communities as a whole. How WP is run, is supposed to be decided by the community.

If these "admins" actually administered the underlying infrastructure as well, this would be a non-issue, as they could simply refuse the software upgrade, or patch it.

The WMF is entrusted with this task, but the WMF is betraying the trust of the community. I think I might ask for my donations to be returned to me, since they are no longer acting according to their mission.

Psh, the radiation levels coming out of a nuke plant are 1/1000th of that coming from even coal ash ponds.

People miss the fact that coal-based power generation releases a heck of a lot more radiation into the environment than nuclear does.

Also, water does not become radioactive when exposed to radiation in the plant, as long as the fission products are properly contained and no chemicals leak out --- which is one of the reasons water is considered such a great coolant.

Current implementation of nuclear technology requires water for cooling and steam generation. So I see how it can affect fish, if there is not an artificial intake pound and artificial lake for mixing warm water exhaust, before releasing back into the river/sea, but I think coal has an even worse affect.

Also, it is very likely that developments in nuclear power generation and new types of reactors such as LFTR could eliminate the problem of requiring large volumes of water to be sucked in and released.

Lots of things kill birds, and actually wind turbines are pretty low on the scale. Even nuclear plants kill more by some estimates:

Nuclear power is still likely bird-safer.

I don't want aggregate stats on total number of birds killed by different technologies.

I want Number of birds killed per hundred thousands of watts generated. If all power plants were nuclear, then 100% of the birds killed in power generation would be by nuclear. That doesn't mean that Nuclear plants are safer for birds than wind turbines.

I use this to my advantage.

1. A competing trash service sent me a flier offering the same service at about 60% of the price I was paying. The current service matched the price for 1 year. Even if they're not making a dime on me they're dividing their fuel cost one more way.

2. Last month I called Time Warner and told them I wanted them to match the introductory price of competing internet service (~75% of regular price for 1 year). They did. This is the second time I've had my price lowered to an introductory rate without being a new customer.

When these prices run out I'll call again and get the rate lowered again. Or I'll cancel and go to the competitor. Either way, these add up to about $360 saved this year for two 15-minute phone calls. Pretty good $/hr.

Don't like that idea. Too much risk of exposure to bugs applying the wrong rules.

It should not be willing to go out of state or accept a different state's rules without special permission, either.

Sorry about that, but someone will serve their needs. Children will have adults to show them, and they usually learn pretty quickly.

Seniors, sorry, they might not be the target market ---- they will need to attend training or have a friend/relative show them.

Ebola can be transmitted through saliva. Often people cough, and there is a "fine mist"; if any of this lands on your skin, you can contract the disease through micro-abrasions in your skin
