itwbennett writes: "Comcast just announced the ultrafast, ultra-broadband "Extreme 105" 105 Mbit/sec Internet service for an introductory price of $105, when bundled with other services. That's the good news. The bad news: Comcast 'put a data cap on the service of 250 Gbit per month — about five hours worth of full-bandwidth use,' writes blogger Kevin Fogarty. 'There's no guarantee you'll be able to take full advantage of all that bandwidth, either.'"

Hugh Pickens writes writes: "PC Magazine reports that the founders of the top three online poker sites in the United States with have been charged with bank fraud, money laundering, and illegal gambling in what some observers say could be death knell for the online poker industry in the United States. The indictment and civil complaint seek at least $3 billion in civil money laundering penalties and forfeiture from the poker companies and 11 defendants including the founders of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker. "As charged, these defendants concocted an elaborate criminal fraud scheme, alternately tricking some U.S. banks and effectively bribing others to assure the continued flow of billions in illegal gambling profits," says US Attorney Preet Bhahara. "Moreover, as we allege, in their zeal to circumvent the gambling laws, the defendants also engaged in massive money laundering and bank fraud.""

Frosty Piss writes: Former San Diego Chargers musical director Bobby Kent says he wrote "da-da-da-DA da-DACharge!" and is suing ASCAP for not paying him any of the profit from the ubiquitous line from a song he wrote more than 33 years ago, one that is now a staple in sports arenas Back in the 1970s, Kent and co-writer Bernardo M. Hollman created song titled "Stadium Doo Dads." Sports fans know one line from the song — da-da-da-DA da-DACharge! — which Kent registered with ASCAP in 1978. But according to Kent, he never saw any royalties.

Solar Car Speed Record Smashed 72

An anonymous reader writes with word from Australia that "There's a new world record for the fastest solar-powered land vehicle: 88 km/h average speed over one kilometre in a lightweight car that uses about the same power as a toaster." As the article goes on to explain, this solar racer, built last year by students from the University of New South Wales, managed to nab that speed record earlier this month on an Australian navy base airstrip.

drc37 writes: My current boss asked me what I thought of asking all employees to work 10-11 hour days until the company is profitable. He read something from Joel Spolsky that said the best way to get new customers is to add new features. Anyways, we are a startup with almost a year live. None of the employees have ownership/stock and all are salary. Salaries are at normal industry rates.

What should I say to him when we talk about this again?
