Comment Hiatus? When? (Score 2) 465

I am not sure that there has been any such Hiatus (http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/2014/7#temp).

May I have overseen something? Like the Hollow Earth theory or Bigfoot?

Oh yes, the links belong to the NOAA, the same source used by the Evil(TM) IPCC (Illuminati Pokemon Collectors Club)... so, may you be so kind as to provide any alternate DATASETS (nope, I'm not interested in distorted graphics based on your momma's basal temperature).

NOTE: You may be talking about the STRATOSFERIC TEMPERATURE, which indeed raises at a slower level than SURFACE TEMPERATURE.

BUTWhen we talk about Global Warming, we are not talking about the Stratosphere... mainly because we don't give a flying fuck about how cold or warm it is up there as we happen to live on the SURFACE of the planet and not in balloons. AND to make matters worse, even up there temperatures are indeed rising.

And yes, I know: Global Warming is a big hoax created by Obama to forbid the hard working US citizen to openly carry their RPG-7 and to tax the hell out of them.

God Bless the Tea Party!!

Well, in WoW most people don't give a shit about RPing. I used to play in a mixed real (EU Steamwheedle) and most were there for the fun, beat the crap out of stuff and do rallies, the time between was grinding for gear and chatting about metal and stuff... people RPing were mostly laughed upon. And WoW actually ahs a lot of potential for humour so that serious RPing ends up being too silly even in pure RP realms. I never understood how people would prefer to stay in Silvermoon City RPing stories like one were they had to resolve a killing or love affairs and stuff, really silly. Anyway, everybody is free to do whatever they want, of course, it's their money.

Vendetta Online.

It's space traders style, very complicated but very good, multi-platform (Linux, Mac, Win, Droid and even iOS), relatively small community but very dedicated which actually means that you get to know the developers and they really listen to you. The game is online since 2005 or earlier (constantly upgraded of course).

If you like stuff like EVE or Anarchy Online you will just get an orgasm with this one.

I don't play it since a lot of time ago, but I still have a subscription. The reason is that I just have no time between job and sport, pity because it's a real good game and awesome community.

Germany used cheques for quite a while too. And just wait: With SEPA payment methods as our iDeal will become common in the rest of Europe, specially in countries like the UK with chip and pin which makes it much more reliable. Awesome, instant, no fees for customers and less for merchants plus no risk of chargebacks involved (except for non-delivery of goods).

A few years ago (2008-2009) I was working at Bibit/ Worldpay (payment gateway of the RBS back then) and we learned that credit card payment was not very popular either, so as online shopping. I assume things should have changed a lot since then,, but it's interesting to note: They did not use credit card or ATMs but rather a sort of card with which you went to a grocery store and got cash... just as we use our debit cards to rake money out of an ATM... strange.

Sure, but why would we have to learn exotic units used only in the USA in primary school here in Europe? Do you study the Castillian league by chance? Pray tell how much is a Dutch pound, a Dutch ounce or a German Zentner? Mind you, the three last units are of daily use here in Holland and in Germany.
