They don't have to give the work to the world at large. They have offer to give the code to the people who are running the code. If some company hires me to build a widget for them to use in their fleet vehicles, then I need to give them the code (if they ask)... I don't have to publish it on the intarwebs.

Ask yourself this... How effective would such videos be if nobody saw them? If people didn't know they existed. Would they keep making them? So then it follows that the fewer people who see them, the better.

I have friends who buy a new car every 3 years. I drive my cars into the ground... Well, not quite. As soon as I feel it can no longer be relied upon to get me where I'm going, then I replace it, with something else pre-owned.

I place no stock in what my car says about my 'image' and I save money in fuel because my co-workers would rather take their cars than ride in mine.

because "The Internet". My wife doesn't care about internet ideals. She just wants to get her work done. There are lots of sites that she needs to do her work that require Flash... These are places that hired out their web-dev and don't have fulltime staff.. They're not going to hire someone to come and fix something that is apparently working. My wife's computer doesn't auto-update so I hear from her once a week to update her Flash plugin because it's "blocked" again by Safari.

Fucking irritating and I would probably quietly cheer if someone went on a shooting rampage at Adobe... Maybe we can get some radicalized individuals to do it for us...

I don't have a lot of data but I occasionally do QNX work and the companies I know who are using QNX are just using it in their legacy products. Their new products are being developed on Linux. If that's any sort of indication of the general trend, then QNX is also in a downward spiral.

I once had a Chevy Molt... After a certain age, it started developing a rusty sheen and then parts started falling off as I drove it...

... Upgrading to Lollipop made stuff worse for me ... I want to go back to KK.

- Lollipop doesn't know how to play a WAV file anymore so I can't listen to my Asterisk voice mail.
- Wireless charging stopped working reliably. My phone pairs with the charger but doesn't seem to charge. It's warm when I pick it up in the morning but battery is almost dead.
- Battery life has gone down. My usage patterns haven't changed but I can no longer make it through the day without a charge...

What the average person eats is much smaller than when a few people come in with coolers full of Tupperware containers and start raiding the 'all you can eat' saying "But you said all I can eat! You didn't say I had to eat it here and all in one sitting!"

A restaurant would quickly go out of business if they had to cater to a steady stream of people with big coolers..

huh. Didn't know Fixya had become useful. Last time I looked, it appeared to have tantalizing information but when you clicked on a solution, it greyed out the screen and wanted money. So I've been filtering it out.
