dhinckley writes "Google Maps has added some new features including pictures of the front of the locations you're searching for. Additionally, Local Businesses can enter custom information about their companies including pictures, websites, what type of payment they accept, and even offer coupons through Google Maps."

MCraigW writes "Simultaneous warming on Earth and Mars suggests that our planet's recent climate changes might have a natural — and not a human-induced — cause. Mars, it appears, has also been experiencing milder temperatures in recent years. In 2005 data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey missions revealed that the carbon dioxide 'ice caps' near Mars's south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row. Habibullo Abdussamatov, head of the St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory in Russia, says the Mars data is evidence that the current global warming on Earth is being caused by changes in the sun."

The new service which follows Google's decision to include IM with mail, is still in beta and allows users to access IM from Yahoo mail. I think this decision will definitely benefit users as they'll not need to download the messaging software. You'll be able to launch a messaging session in the email program and see which of your messaging contacts are online. An anonymous reader writes: What happend to all the Ferrari Acer/Vista reviews that Microsoft had hoped for? This is what ZDNet's Adrian Kingsley Hughes is wondering.

The funny thing it, nearly two months on, I've yet to see a single review. Now, there's a chance that an odd review or two has slipped past me under the radar, but given the number of bloggers who got their hands on Acers, I'm surprised that I've managed to miss ALL the reviews (I have well over 1,000 RSS feeds in my reader). Even after a quick Google I can't find a single review (the only story that I can find is that of Scott Beale who auctioned his off on eBay and sent the proceeds to the EFF).
So where did all the notebooks go?

Snad writes "The BBC is reporting that an Australian bank has adopted the price of Apple's iPod as a means of tracking international currency values. Similar to The Economist's Big Mac index, this 'iPod index' tracks the price of a 2-GB iPod Nano around the globe and uses purchasing power parity to determine relative currency value. A sample quote: '"The index suggests that the US dollar has potential to appreciate against a range of major currencies, with the Australian dollar about 15% overvalued against the greenback," said Craig James, Commonwealth Securities' head economist.' The cheapest place to buy an iPod is Canada — $144 (but Hong Kong and Japan are almost as cheap); the most expensive is Brazil — $327."
