Journal Journal: 9/11, America, and Slashbots 2

Interesting phenomena. With the 2nd anniversary of 9/11 and a recent spate of somewhat US-centric newsposts, the predictable slashbots are nearly falling over one another to point out they hate America and capitalists more than the other. Black helicoptors and grassy knolls seem to be the recurring theme in these discussions. I'm not sure if I should be amazed or disgusted with the ignorance.

Journal Journal: Oh my, crappy set of days

Stuck with insomnia while being sick, there's a bad combination. Even a hefty dose of Ny-Quil wouldn't put me down.

On top of that funness, my Aunt's (Dad's sister) husband just spontaneously filed for divorce, ending their 35 year marriage. WTF? My family doesn't know what the hell we're going to do, she's totally upset, and has no reason given.

Putting off the $1200 A/C repair for my Camaro until Friday. It was intended for today, but my mom's car has bigger issues, like burning oil faster than gasoline and making unhealthy noises. I had the shop swap appointment dates so she can get hers in.

Anyone have advice for motivating one's self to get off their duff and write a friggin' resume for something they want? I don't get it, its like I have no will to do anything. I could party blame its a feeling of "not a chance in hell" but there's something to be said for the effort made. But this isn't a onetime deal, usually have a hard time making effort to do stuff. Usually blame this on the feelgood shit Ritalin that I was exposed to between 8 and 12 years old. That stuff will damage you. Don't feed it to your kids, I swear.

Journal Journal: ABC Radio thinks Arianna Huffington is CONSERVATIVE?? 4

I'm not quite sure what is in the water where they broadcast the news updates, but calling Arianna a conservative must mean Stalin was a radical right winger. At least in ABC Radio News's worldview.

Granted Arianna used to be conservative years ago, everyone knows she went crazy and turned leftie, and has been for quite some time.

Journal Journal: How liberals view your money. 7

This is something I ran across in the Penny-Arcade forums approximately a year ago that had me so flabbergasted, I could not help but copy-paste it for further study and discussion.

And here it is for you guys!

It was a thread regarding this simple political quiz and as no surprise (gaming community) the vast majority were far, far leftist.

A conservative who took the test was not surprised at the results, posted his result screen, and wrote this:
No suprise here, I am a moderate Republican. I like my money, I don't like giving it to slackers.

To which a liberal replied:
Your mistake here is assuming that A) the money is yours, and B) that money exists at all. Bitch.

A bit baffled, the conservative decided to press with the existence of money and the system:
The money is mine. I work for it therefore it is mine. That is how the system works.

To which, the liberal replied with something I still have no words for...
Money is a social illusion, a fabrication. You, being a collection of atoms, have no right to claim a separate collection of atoms, representing a mere concept, as property. At best, you steward the money which you collect.

And of course, no surprise, the liberal went by the handle 'God-Eater'

Journal Journal: Der Füherer declares Thatcher influenced her life. 4

Across the pond, floating wild biographies, Hillary Clinton says Margaret Thatcher inspired her life.

Hillary Clinton tells London: Margaret Thatcher inspired me. /// For Clinton, The SUNDAY TIMES reports, it was her political opposite, Margaret Thatcher, who inspired her physical transformation. "Someone sent me a video years ago about Margaret Thatcher's career, and I followed it from afar," Clinton explains.

Peace Activist Etiquette
With all of this talk of impending war, many of us will encounter "Peace Activists" who will try and convince us that we must refrain from retaliating against the ones who terrorized us all on September 11, 2001, and those who support terror.

These activists may be alone or in a gathering.....most of us don't know how to react to them. When you come upon one of these people, or one of their rallies, here are the proper rules of etiquette:

1. Listen politely while this person explains their views. Strike up a conversation if necessary and look very interested in their ideas. They will tell you how revenge is immoral, and that by attacking the people who did this to us, we will only bring on more violence. They will probably use many arguments, ranging from political to religious to humanitarian.

2. In the middle of their remarks, without any warning, punch them in the nose.

3. When the person gets up off of the ground, they will be very angry and they may try to hit you, so be careful.

4. Very quickly and calmly remind the person that violence only brings about more violence and remind them of their stand on this matter. Tell them if they are really committed to a nonviolent approach to undeserved attacks, they will turn the other cheek and negotiate a solution. Tell them they must lead by example if they really believe what they are saying.

5. Most of them will think for a moment and then agree that you are correct.

6. As soon as they do that, hit them again. Only this time hit them much harder. Square in the nose.

7. Repeat steps 2-5 until the desired results are obtained and the idiot realizes how stupid of an argument he/she is making.

8. There is no difference in an individual attacking an unsuspecting victim or a group of terrorists attacking a nation of people. It is unacceptable and must be dealt with. Perhaps at a high cost.

We owe our military a huge debt for what they are about to do for us and our children. We must support them and our leaders at times like these. We have no choice. We either strike back, VERY HARD, or we will keep getting hit in the nose.

Journal Journal: Information overflow? Not yet

I now have four TVs blasting information at me, currently FOXNews, CNN, PMSNBC, and ABC. Fox never changes, I usually rotate the ABC/CBS/NBC channels.

Sitting online with several windows open to online wires, AP, UPI, Reuters, Drudge, etc etc. And yakking away to other people. Modern technology. Freaky stuff.

Journal Journal: Blew all my mod points 1

Well, there goes all my mod points on the latest war post on the Slashdot main page. Having to put down moronic and false statements of "An agressive US", and "Die America Die" as opposed to underrating or insightfuling the statements freeing the Iraqi people from torture.

I don't understand how people connect dots in these manner, I try so hard to understand their point of view, but I'm left with frustration and the need to heave objects out the window.
