No, they didn`t give it up. Beside, it appear that the dealer is the one who enabled the demo/test run of FSD, and said it was enabled. Beside, it had been re-disabled before the customer purchased it on the 20th. When I was looking to purchase mine, I checked at used ones and the Tesla dealership told me that returned cars (well, upgrade to newer models) were mostly sold without any of the options turned on, and could be activated as we wished, no matter what the original owner had (so we don't have to overpay for FSD when we don't want it). That's for cars resold through Tesla though, cars sold through the normal channels keep their features.

I've not used my free trial of FSD myself, but a friend did and it took him all of 3 minutes to get it activated, he had it for almost 6 weeks, and they offered him a 1K discount on the price (CAD) when he said he didn't want to purchase it at that time, maybe that can help some of you guys :)

In this case, it had not been paid for. Just like the premium connectivity is enabled on all tesla currently, a lot of tesla's owner haven't paid for it, and for those car the feature is expected to go away after the free trial... You can always request a free trial of FSD, which enables it for some amount of time, but it`s not permanent. The buyer of the car should have looked at the details (in this case, I expect the dealership is the one to blame..)

The one near the left side door was definitely standard and rated 150W, and the one in the tray on the left side of the "trunk" was rated 250W, but the installation quality wasn't that great so I can't confirm if it was original.. Obliviously you'd want your engine running if you were using them for a long period of time. I used to charge my DJI phantom 3 pro batteries using 3 100W chargers at the same time, 1 on the 150W and 2 on the 250W.

That was on a Grand Caravan 2011 we rented for a few months in California. Not sure if the options/installations can differ from location to location ?

In the previous 8 years I spent close to 60k in fuel cost, 11k in in maintenance and repair for a 50k vehicle. If m3 were 7 places it would have been a no brainer. I am lucky enough to be able to finance the X so we decided not to wait, but for families with lots of driving in a high fuel cost/very low electricity price, electric cars are definitely worth it.

I did multiple trip longer than 250 miles / 400km without stopping for a charge in my model X with my wife and 5 kids. Even did more than 200 miles / 320 km in very cold weather ( -10F / -23C ) before stopping for a charge and I still had quite a lot of range left.

I usually charge more often than I want because the kids ask to add an earlier stop, and with them all taking more time than I'd like I usually end up unplugging before they are ready to leave.

what if you blew it early on for a download you wanted ? I'm lucky enough to be provided a large enough cap that I never reach it, but my wife only uses a 1 GB plan. She sometimes use it all, and then she`ll be one or two days without. Extra GB are 70$ (twice the plan price which includes unlimited text / unlimited international calls) so it`s not a good idea to unlock it for more..

This is an app choice in this case. Certain apps will allow you to chose how they behave, in case you don't want to force all apps to behave in a certain way. There are different os level choices but I would see google news allowing accessing the news you just clicked on without wifi even if you checked the option to pre-cache all news through wifi only..

Also, I guess that you could send a payload to trigger an app awake signal and ping back to the server, but that would use more of the device battery and processing time, and on android at least it would show that the app is using background process and the user would be presented with an option to turn that off. It`s better to only rely on the feedback mecanism not to cause those issues.

Anyway..

Silent push notifications can have any payload the app programmer needs to send. Any silent push notification campaign will result in the feedback service updating the list of invalid devices. They can't send a ping to your device, they need to go through apple APNS service to contact the device, which will cause the aforementioned feedback service to update the list. The same process happens with Android.
