People fail to understand. The legal system is not about right or wrong. That's where they get lost, it's about legality. The rules are more important than anything else. This is why lawyers are almost universally hated. To normal people it's about what's right but in the courts it's about what's legal.

I fully believe if the software in question had been proprietary then the bug would have gone unreported longer and we'd still be looking for a patch 3 years from now. This is generally how things are done in the proprietary world. In fact if anyone had shown proof of the bug with an exploit they'd likely have been sued or prosecuted.

Letterman was lefty but I liked him fine. Colbert is lefty but he's got a weird quirky humor that is sometimes hilarious but often falls flat. Also he's not going to pick at the left's silliness like Dave often did, he's one sided and people will tire of the bias. He will lose a huge chunk of people that loved Letterman and I doubt he'll be able to make up the difference. Time will tell.
