Comment Sometimes minimum quality or conformity needed (Score 1) 1

Having bought a 7m HDMI cable unable to reliably transmit in 1080p and causing purple/green pixels on some places with evident bit code loss/drops.
The cable diameter was quite thin and my guess is, it was not up to specs for that length.
Finally I had to buy another one 1.3 certified this time and noticeably thicker.

On personal experience is not enough facts to build evidence. By the way, I am certain some non-conform material sub-standard piece of cram get in the stores as well as the over-priced golden hype ones. If on has to buy several low price crap before stumbling on a good one, this is sure too pricey as well.

I contest you took part of the assets I pay for as my SOE subscription, to abandon it as a pretending free service. Shall I sue Sony about that?
Even critically, you straight tell me there is no team to fix bugs and hence this service may as well be subject to data breaches, like the one your fired security team failed to fix in may, and caused six weeks of unavailability and caused critical data like credit cards numbers, passwords and private user data to leak in pirates hands?
Sorry, but as a paying customer I demand you continue to provide the services I pay for with the corresponding assets being maintained, fixed and securely tightened.

As I wrote to SOE support about the everquest2.com service and characters profiles being outdated and bugged, they replied straight it was due to the service having no staff to fix anything. I thing this tell much about the state of lays-offs and ability to secure or update services. The everquest2.com website identify users using station SOE logins.

Greetings leagris,

Thank you for contacting Sony Online Entertainment. Unfortunately, since the EQ2 players site was converted to a free service, there is not a team set to maintain/update the site. We have no ETA when or if a team will be added to maintain/update the site. We are sorry for the inconvenience that this may cause. If you have further questions, feel free to contact us.

Session tracking really need new standard and some merging with the HTML5 client side storage. This with clear client enforceable client policy, server and DOM standard way of reading the access and store policy settings.

The situation now is:
- an obsolete RFC2965 cookies standard with no average user know/can manage safely,
- and a still to be standardized HTML5 incompatible client storage and database.

New cookies should become part and merge with the HTML5 client side storage, with backward compatible but marked obsolete API.

Genetic may gives patterns and draft how one may develop some of the many kinds of abilities and qualities.
There are no such thing as useless or valueless quality a human can have in the void. All these get values or weight from the social and cultural environment. As for the physical smartness/cuteness you mention. It show it's value in the kind of society that value it as some visual/perceivable sign of other expected qualities. And these expectations are strongly rooted to culture and surrounding dominant genetic heritage.

Some genetic patterns may be considered as bad as disabilities or illness, like 21 trisomy in most if not every where in the world. That as an extreme example of maybe strong or evident consensus still enlight the fact that, 21 trisomycs show some very uncommon and strong social abilities, and the kind of intelligence and smartness they develop is only a weakness in front of the dominant other kind, as a matter of incompatibility. In a world where natural selection would have reversed the majority with 21 trisomy as the dominant genetic pattern, the other kind of here considered healthy would certainly be the disabled and mentally ill then.

Submission + - Intel's New Core i7-990X Extreme Edition Tested (hothardware.com)

MojoKid writes: "Intel recently launched a speed bump of their flagship Extreme Edition Core i7 processor, known as the Core i7-990X. Its multiplier is unlocked and it's clocked at 3.45GHz stock speed with a Turbo Boost top-end speed of 3.73GHz. Intel claims its the fastest desktop chip on the planet; like geek tiger blood for your PC. The new Core i7-990X is also based on the 32nm Gulftown core and the performance metrics show it's easily the fastest 6-core chip for the desktop currently but of course it'll cost you as well."
