Submission + - Virtual Jam Sessions
Mickyfin613 writes: Ultimate Guitar reports that eJamming, which currently makes software that allows musicians to practice with MIDI enabled musical instruments over the Internet, has announced a service that will work for non MIDI instruments (IE regular guitars, drums, bass).
Obviously the service requires high quality audio streaming with extremely low latency, as such, the service isn't recommended for anyone more then a few hundred miles apart from their band mates.
Is it a revolutionary musical advancement or just the latest evolution of Guitar Hero/Rock band software?
How much can real musicians benefit from practicing over a network, I'm barely qualified to call myself a musician, but to me a good deal of the value of jamming is the interaction with other musicians that might be difficult over the Web.
The service will debut at $15 / month for each band member.
